PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION TO NORWAY FOR A LITTLE WHILE AFTER BOMB EXPLODES

July 22 2011

Oslo, Norway – There is much romance associated with the Old World, a romance that isn’t isolated to just people from the New World. True, those people go to Europe and Asia seeking adventure and life experience, entranced by the dream of the coliseum
what those places would be but people there are similarly infatuated with their culture. That is particularly true of Europe which has seemingly endless vistas to view and history to experience, which enamours even the people who see it every day.

Whether it is the historical sites of Italy, the mountain vistas of the Alps, or the art and culture of France just about everyone has some kind of urge to visit Europe. Well, most of Europe. Even in that land of wonder, there are places that simply don’t evoke such dreams or majesty, places which have no real sense of wonder or imagination associated with them. One of those places is Norway which really doesn’t have a whole lot of the kind of thing which draws people, until now at least. A bombing in the capital city of Oslo, in an building housing the Prime Minister’s office, has brought global attention on the land of reindeer for a little while, reminding everyone who doesn’t live there that things do actually happen in the country.

“This is a very serious situation. We are still in the midst of sorting out the details and we can bring those to you when we have them. What I can confirm right now is that oklahoma city bombing
there was a major explosion at one of the government buildings. A number of people were injured and there have been a few fatalities,” said a government spokesperson. “We are responding as effectively as possible to the situation and we believe it is now under control. Police officials are working with government agencies to track down the culprits of this incident. When we catch them we will let you know.”

Thus far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“This is a very unusual happening, obviously, and that makes it really spectacular in a lot of ways. I mean bombings happen all the time but rarely do they happen in place like Norway. Frankly, I can’t even remember the last time I read about anything at all happening in Norway and so this is a big deal for that reason alone,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “I’m sure they’ll catch the bad guys. Norway has their own problems, like any country, so this could be the result of a host of different things. I wouldn’t even want to speculate on that because I frankly wouldn’t have idea where to start. I’m really just assuming they have problems in Norway. I frankly haven’t really thought of that country until now and I’m sure it will be forgotten just as soon as things calm down, like by tomorrow.”

Fellow European states have been watching but none has offered assistance.

“This could be a result of those Muhammad cartoons from a few years back. That was norwegian people
Norway I believe, or Sweden, or Finland or something. I don’t know, those places are all kind of the same. It’s doesn’t really matter. I mean even if it was that, how lame. Most terrorists go after big cities in major countries because of some deeply held offence. That cartoon thing, that thing is so done. Only in Norway could that still be a problem. Or Sweden or Denmark or whatever,” continued Davids. “I sincerely doubt that this will raise Norway’s profile very much. I mean terrorist attacks are generally not what brings in tourists. I t worked in New York but there are other things to do there, unlike Oslo. Oslo is the capital of Norway. Had to look that up.”

Meanwhile in New Zealand, wacky dogs have been herding sharks.
