FRANCE JUST LETTING GERMANY DO WHAT IT WANTS THROUGH EUROZONE CRISIS

November 28 2011

Berlin, Germany – It may seem like a world away, but the ongoing crisis with the Euro may start to get very real in the next few days. Despite bailouts and bond sales, the crisis facing the Eurozone is only getting larger which many observers believe is pushing it towards a collapse in the coming weeks or even days.euro symbol

European leaders, though, aren’t giving up that easily and are engaged in high level talks to try and push off what many see as an inevitability. At the centre of the fight to rescue the Euro are the two wealthiest members of the Eurozone, France and Germany, whose leaders have been meeting nonstop to try and stave off the crisis.

While no details of any potential plan have been announced, insiders indicate that much of the wording of the rescue initiative is being drafted by Germany, the largest economy in the region, and that the French feel they have little choice but to go along with it. That is reportedly making German Chencellor Angela Merkel very, very pleased indeed.

“This is more than a crisis, this is a panic. The situation is very dire, much more so than many people in the Eurozone are willing to admit and unless they take dramatic action it is only going to get worse in the next little while. Luckily many of the leaders are on board with the German plan. The Germans always have a plan,” said an insider close to the negotiations. “Sarkozy and the French side have come up with some merkel sarkozy
ideas but most of them have been shot down. They know better than to argue. I’m sure they are working behind the scenes to try and get their point across but they don’t dare step forward and proclaim their views outright.”

The European Central Bank and the IMF have both been involved in efforts to try and stabilize the Euro, but Germany has more or less taken over the negotiations.

Much of the planning to rescue the Euro revolves around governments ceding some control to a central authority, ostensibly in Brussels.

“The Germans have really taken charge here and it’s quite a relief that they have done so. I think everyone is relieved that Germany has taken the lead position on this, but especially the French. They were just waiting for this,” continued the insider. “Sarkozy and the rest of the French delegation really didn’t have it in them to continue to fight angela merkel is happy
this battle up front and now that the Germans have taken over, well they can just sit back and enjoy the ride. I’m sure they will fight a little bit, but just a little bit.”

Other nations across the zone have also been content to just sit back and let Germany take charge, except Italy which has been responsible for screwing up much of the economy in the first place.

Recently Italian bonds were hung out for all the public to see and were mostly dismissed or despised.

German officials have tried their best to just ignore the Italians completely.
