IRAN CLAIMS ARREST OF CIA SPIES IS PEACEFUL IN NATURE

November 24 2011

Tehran, Iran – Iranian officials have confirmed that at least 12 spies for the CIA have been captured in that country. The spies were reportedly a part of a covert operation, conducted in concert with Israel’s Mossad, to try and undermine the ongoing nuclear program in Iran.mahmoud ahmadinejad.

“The U.S. and Zionist regime’s espionage apparatuses were trying to damage Iran both from inside and outside with a heavy blow, using regional intelligence services,” said a government spokesperson. “Fortunately, with swift reaction by the Iranian intelligence department, the actions failed to bear fruit.”

The nationality of the captured spies have not been made public but it believed that all were working for the CIA.

Earlier this week Hezbollah forces claimed to have broken a major spy ring in Lebanon. It’s not yet clear if the two incidents are connected but Iran and Hezbollah are close allies.

The condition of the spies has not been made public but Iranian officials have claimed that they were taken with only peaceful intentions in mind.mahmoud ahmadinejad

“This is a major, major blow to the intelligence program in Iran and could very well facilitate a reenergizing of the nuclear program as a whole. Aside from the challenges inherent in not having the intelligence these people were garnering, it will fortify the opponent that is bad,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Of course, they don’t appear to have been particularly good spies. Usually if a spy has been captured his or her network has broken down and so from a pure intelligence standpoint these people likely wouldn’t have provided much useful information so it’s pretty easy to just cut them off.”

The U.S. government has not made any comment on the capture or the quality of their spy network in Iran.

According to insiders, the spies are being treated well with comfortable beds, good food, and only intermittent beatings which are fairly standard for foreigners in the country.mahmoud ahmadinejad

“The one positive thing to take from this, or at least not bad thing, is that Iran has made it clear that these people have been taken under peaceful conditions. Had spies in other countries been captured they most certainly would have been mistreated but because they are in Iran everything will probably be alright. Frankly, they will probably be treated better now than when they were working for the CIA,” continued Hander. “Iran is a peace loving nation, as they have said all along, and they have a dedication to peaceably resolving their issues with other countries. I’m sure this situation will be no different, I’m sure they will be able to work something out that will make everyone happy in the end.”

Iranian spies in The United States have a long history of being mistreated, something Tehran has said will not influence the treatment of these agents.
