U.S. DARES IRAN TO CUT OFF OIL SUPPLY TO THE MAJORITY OF THE WORLD

December 28 2011

Washington, D.C. – At some point things are going to come to a head with Iran. Despite sanctions and threats that would bow lesser nations, Iran has stayed strong, not only continuing to antagonize the West and Israel, but also develop nuclear weapons and now throw their naval weight around, closing off the Strait of Hormuz, a very important oil pipeline.barack obama firm

The U.S. in particular is not amused, and understandably so. No one but the harshest of conservative hawks want war with Iran, but equally no one wants them to have nukes or to control the world’s oil supply, especially in already rough economic seas. That, in turn, has left the U.S. in awkward position, and has prompted them to really just egg Iran on even further.

Now with fresh threats about cutting off the oil supply, which would push crude prices well beyond their already high rates, it appears that there may be few options left in dealing with Iran, and that the current policy of partial appeasement is simply not going to work. Now the U.S. is starting make noise in that direction, which of course is just making Iran even bolder and much more likely to do exactly what they are threatening.

“Closing the Strait of Hormuz is very easy for Iranian naval forces. Iran has mahmoud iran
comprehensive control over the strategic waterway,” Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Wednesday, as he has said over and over again but of course not done.
Iran has started conducting naval exercises in the area around the Strait with their scariest ships equipped with their biggest guns and missiles.

The U.S. does have naval assets in the area, way more than Iran but they have mostly stayed out of the way.

“The issue here is that they will potentially, likely, start a war that they will have to finish. This isn’t going to be like other wars, Iran is formidable and they will have to see it through. Bombing caves can take a long time but it’s not particularly hard to do, especially because caves tend not to shoot back,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “Ships do shoot back and that is going to be an issue. U.S. forces, as brave and as well-trained as they are, aren’t really used to things shooting back. Sure, they run into mines and things, but shooting back on this scale is something else entirely.”nukes

It’s not clear how many bullets Iran has, nor if the reason the U.S. has not yet taken military action is because they are scared of getting shot at.

“No one wants to get shot at, even soldiers. It’s really a bad thing for the most part, especially when they have big guns and missiles like Iran has. It’s scary to see those things come at you, at least I imagine it would be. I’ve never personally been shot with a missile, but it can’t be pleasant,” continued Martinez. “Ultimately, though, they are going to have to make a decision on what to do. They can’t let this situation go on forever. Neither side is going to have the patience for that and eventually one will act if the other doesn’t.”

Israel has no such fears of getting shot at, their bullets being guided by a higher power.
