QUEEN ELIZABETH STILL CAN’T GET OVER CHARLES AND DIANA SPLIT

January 8 2012

London, U.K. – For young people today the story of Charles and Diana is little more than a history lesson, some thing that their parents cared about but not something that really matters to them. True, some young girls in particular have affection for Diana but newer generations simply don’t have the same connection to that doomed romance as people who lived through it.charles diana wedding

For the generations that watched the pair marry, watched them show off their young princes for the first time, watched the marriage disintegrate on television and in tabloids, and watched as emergency personnel crowded that tunnel in Paris, the failed marriage holds a certain poignancy with which younger people simply cannot connect.

There are few people more intimately connected to that romance, more invested in it, than the Queen who watched her son’s pain, and watched the monarchy she had dedicated her entire life to become threatened once again. Now, fifteen years after that split was made official, the Queen still bears a great deal of pain over that split, and deep regrets, wishing she could turn back the clock and change things even after all this time.

“There was a moment when we were talking very candidly about divorce. I remember her sighing and saying, “History is repeating itself.” She was concerned that if they divorced, Charles would marry Camilla. She thought Charles was in danger of throwing queen elizabeth
everything out of the window by rejecting Diana and forging another relationship,” former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, said in a new biography of the Queen.
According to reports, the pain over the split has still not left the Queen, causing her to occasionally break into bouts of dissatisfaction over the memory.

The Queen herself had her tear ducts removed upon taking the throne, a long British tradition, but it is believed she would likely cry if she could.

“The Queen is stoic of course but there are times, when she is reminded of the events that transpired and it really does upset her. I mean there are time when she only sips at her afternoon tea, that’s when you know she’s really upset,” said an insider with Buckingham Palace. “Charles could care less, honestly. I mean he is respectful of Diana and the marriage when with his children, but outside that it’s really not something he worries about. The Queen though always insists on talking about it, nearly every times they meet up.”

It’s not clear what would change if time travel were possible, but probably nothing, possibly not even getting a new driver for that fateful trip.prince charles

“The Prince is content, even happy where he is. Both he and Diana were deeply unhappy, that is not the best way to have a marriage, even as much as the reality of that pains Royal watchers and the Queen. He likely wouldn’t have wanted to change anything, and he’s glad he doesn’t have to debate that with his Mum,” continued the insider. “In that respect it’s a good thing we don’t have time travel, and that Diana is dead. Now he can just appease the old bird and pat her on the hand. I can tell you though that Charles has no problem eating his tea and biscuits. I mean that wouldn’t really be British now would it.”

Charles was reportedly born without tear ducts, something which was not passed onto his children despite the arranged marriage.
