Tbilisi, Georgia – This is an alert for the nation of Georgia. Strange lights seen above the skies of Tbilisi. Future developments to be posted here.
12:09 pm – Reports of lightning flashes throughout the Georgian country side. No accompanying storm clouds.
12:47 pm – Major lightning storm over capital of Tbilisi. Reports of ‘nearly black’ storm clouds forming over the city.
1:03 pm – Major explosion in eastern section of the city. Emergency personnel dispatched to area
1:15 pm – No reports of casualties from area though a large crater has formed in the street. Believed to be a gas main explosion, area evacuated.

2:01 pm – Two more explosions reported in north and central areas of the city. Reports of similar incidents in Kutaisi, Batumi, And Rustavi.
2:33 pm – Phone service is terminated with city of Batumi. Intermittent power outages in Tbilisi. Many workers and school children allowed to leave early.
4:10 pm – No recent activity. Power restored throughout capital. Contact with Batumi still not established.
5:13 pm – Power lost throughout Tbilisi, contact lost with Kutaisi. Internet down throughout capital city. Back-up generators powering emergency services.
6:00 pm – Power crew reported missing in northern Tbilisi. Reports of explosions in region unsubstantiated.
7:13 pm – Rioting in southern part of country. Police authorized to use pepper spray and tear gas to calm locals.
7:33 pm – Massive explosion reported in north. Police believe reports to be erroneous.
8:10 pm – Power restored throughout city. Cause believed to faulty transformer at transfer station. Reports of unrest continue.

8:31 pm – BREAKING: Massive unrest reported in northern section of the country. Reports of Russian invasion spreading.
9:00 pm – Confirmation that no invasion has taken place. Police have managed to move many people back into their homes.
9:15 pm – Local television channel cuts short broadcast of Steven Spielberg film ‘War of the Worlds’ which has been repeating throughout the day.
9:47 pm – Reports of sporadic rioting in sections of the country. Phone and internet communications restored throughout the country.
