EVERY SINGLE CHINESE PERSON HAS FEELINGS HURT OVER DALAI LAMA VISIT

February 20 2010

Washington, D.C. – In the minds of many it is a foregone conclusion that the People’s Republic of China will be the next major world superpower. With the largest population on the planet and an economy growing daily, there’s little doubt that in the chinese military
near future they will challenge the United States as the supreme power on the planet. Of course, whether or not that will mean much by the time they are able to gain that level of power is a different issue altogether as power across the board begins to equalize amongst many other nations of the world.

Greece, Rome, and Mongolia are all examples of superpowers who ruled their times, but with entities like the European Union, Russia’s continued growth, and the likelihood of the U.S. remaining powerful for many years to come, China’s rule won’t be like that of their predecessors. They will, in short, have a loud voice amongst a very vocal chorus, but will rarely have the platform for themselves. Regardless of dalai lama
their future influence over planetary issues, the country will no doubt have a great deal of power in affecting local politics. There’s little doubt that their pull over countries like Japan and South Korea will only increase in the future, but for now at least much of their influence remains in territories such as Taiwan and Tibet. It is the latter that has been the biggest thorn in their side in recent years, and now after a visit by the Dalai Lama to the United States, the issue has once again come front and centre, throwing the entire country into a state of desolation.

“The United States has grossly violated basic norms of international relations by meeting with the Dalai Lama. The US action seriously interfered in Chinese internal affairs, seriously hurt the feelings of China's people and seriously harmed China-US relations,” said foreign ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu. “This has deeply hurt many people in China, not just the people in government but also the people in the street. The sentiment from average people is that they are very personally hurt by the actions of the U.S. Government.”dalai lama obama

The 14th Dalai Lama has ruled the spiritual life of Tibetans from India since his exile in 1959. The conflict that led to his exile, as well as continued provocation from the Lama, made him an enemy of the Chinese government and people ever since.

“Anything to do with the Lama is very much a sore spot for people in China. At first it was quite a practical issue, but it has since de-evolved into a serious emotional and political debate. While many in the United States and throughout the world see it as silly, I doubt very much that the American people would like it very much if the President of China met with Fidel Castro,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Of course America upset and China upset are two different animals. With a billion and half people going home upset or crying over lead-laden children’s toys, we are talking about a serious threat to American economic growth.”chinese boy crying

It’s not clear if the emotional distress is shared by the massive Chinese Diaspora across the world or just those in the PRC.

“That truly is river of tears that could ultimately flood the good will directed towards the United States. I’m sure that Obama government realized that having the Lama at the office they would bring a lot of anger, but the outpouring of grief that the Chinese government is describing is something else entirely,” continued Hander. “Because of years of rhetoric the Tibet issue is very near to the hearts of many in China, and that means a great deal of tears over the issue. Perhaps once the American government sees the grief on the streets they will reconsider future visits from the Lama.”

The Chinese government is reportedly sending a lot of grief counsellors across the country in an effort to help the people come to terms with the visit.
