IRAN REPORTEDLY PLANNING NEW ATOMIC SITES IN ISRAEL, U.S.
March 28 2010
Tehran, Iran – There are many advances and inventions in the history of the world that could reasonably be considered the most important in history. Advances such as the discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel, the development of the printing
press, and the invention of the internet are just a few of the things that have advanced human civilization in profound ways. There is one advance however that stands today as more eventful than any other, partially because we can pin down exactly when it came about, partially because of its potential, and partially because of the damage it has already caused.
In 1917 New Zealander Ernest Rutherford was the first person to successfully split the atom, an advance that over the following twenty-five years would gain more and more importance. Eventually that success led to the two most devastating attacks in human history, killing hundreds of thousands in two bombings. Since that genie was let out of the bottle, the battle over nuclear power has been al consuming. Treading the line between potentially monstrous and being one of the greatest tools in human history, nuclear power has been sought over and fought over since those fateful days in 1945. Now one country which has long sought use of the technology despite protests from across the world has pushed their ambitions even further as Iranian officials announced new plans for new nuclear sites throughout rivals Israel and the United States.
“I can tell you that the plans are much bigger and much broader than have been announced. The government sees nuclear power much like other nations see it, as a stabilizing force. Having nuclear technology will not only put Iran on the map, but will also give them many of the tools other nations have been using for decades. This is the only way to truly make the country competitive in the modern world,” said an Iranian nuclear insider. “The rest of the world has been protesting these advances but Iran will not be hindered by the will of these nations who simply seek to keep our nation and our people as second class citizens in the nuclear age.”
Iran has routinely rejected inspections by the United Nations and have sparked concerns that they are developing nuclear technology for weapons applications rather than power generation and medical uses.
“Obviously the Iranian nuclear program faces many challenges from around the world but they have persisted even in the face of those challenges, even though some of them come from the most powerful countries. By resisting those demands they are really carving out a unique position for themselves by being the nation that stood up for themselves,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Whether or not that is a good thing for the rest of the world is another question entirely and something we will have to assess as a people going forward, but this seems to be the direction they are going.”
The United States, EU, and Israel in particular have protested the nuclear program fearing that it could yield nuclear weapons that would render massive devastation over their nations.
“What’s truly interesting about this is that they are extending their growing nuclear knowledge and technology to other nations. Even though Israel and the U.S. have their own robust nuclear programs, Iran’s help in establishing fresh nuclear sites inside those countries could be really beneficial for them in the long term,” continued Hander. “If they focus on major centres such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, New York, and Washington they could really advance their program and their interests very significantly. From there they may also be able to branch out further and launch their nuclear ambitions in Europe, truly making them the player they so long to be.”
Iran has reportedly already sent scouts to various locations around the world to try and determine the best locations for their nuclear ambitions.
