NETANYAHU DISTRAUGHT AFTER BEING STOOD UP FOR DINNER

March 26 2010

Washington, D.C. – Nations rarely cooperate with one another unless there is some mutual advantage. Throughout history, nations both great and meek have been beset by war, natural disaster, or simply shifting fortunes and fallen into antiquity. In the mustard gas ww1
modern era such dramas have become rare with more co-operation and participation than in any other time in human civilization. The European Union, for example, is a collection of nations that have been butchering each for generations yet now collaborate on virtually all matters of import, the shining example of modern attitudes towards nationalism.

Of course there are still conflicts and one area of the world, an area that has been in turmoil since human beings first stepped foot out of Africa, continues to boil all these tens of thousands of years later. While nations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas have fought over natural resources, territory, and political power, the problems engulfing the Middle East are as they have always been. At their core, it is a sibling rivalry fighting over religious artifacts in a desert, something few other nations would consider valuable much less worth slaughtering each other over. Nonetheless, the battle continues to rage with no clear winner in sight. Though likely to change nothing in the conflict, the leader of on the most prominent nations in the region is no doubt feeling the sting of rejection after flying half way across the world only to be stood up for dinner.benjamin netanyahu

“The Prime Minister was more than offended, he was humiliated by the actions of the President. Having flown from so far away on the invite of the President only to basically be shown the door as soon as he got there was very hurtful both politically and personally,” said an Israeli spokesperson. “We understand that the President is very preoccupied with domestic concerns and that issues in the Middle East will take a back seat to that, but it still hurts. The Prime Minister has been secluded away for the better part of a day now and won’t even talk to his closest advisors.”

The Israeli government invoked the fury of the White House earlier in the month when they announced new housing settlements during a visit by Vice-President Joe Biden earlier in the month. barack obama election

“Traditionally American Presidents have show great support for Israel and their concerns but obviously that has changed. This isn’t altogether unexpected as Obama did declare that the status quo with Israel would end and that serious efforts would have to be towards actually achieving peace, which the Netanyahu government has not made any effort to engage,” said Scrape TV Middle East analyst David Gershwin. “He seemed willing when coming to Washington but obviously Obama wasn’t having any of that. It is a big change for Israel who could always in the past expect an open ear and, frankly, a good meal, neither of which he got on this trip. It has to be heartbreaking for the Prime Minister.”

It’s not clear what would have been served at the dinner, but it’s believed that the kosher fried chicken and Jell-O were not on the President’s plate as it was for the Prime Minister.binyahim netanyahu

“One cannot underestimate how important this development is. Not only does it firmly establish the United States’ position on the issue, it puts Netanyahu and the Israelis in a very specific spot. They simply will not be able to exert their will indiscriminately any longer and will have to take a softer approach if they want to stop the bombings and continued conflicts with their neighbours,” continued Gershwin. “The biggest change however will be in Netanyahu who, simply put, isn’t used to being rejected. He usually gets what and who he wants but the President is obviously above his charms, or at least interested in someone else. That could really change the entire picture.”

Advisors are reportedly still trying to coax the Prime Minister out of his office.
