ISRAELI BLOCKADE PUTS AN END TO MILEY CYRUS CONCERTS

June 4 2010

Tel Aviv, Israel - The battles between Israel and various Arab elements, most notably the Palestinians, has been an ongoing drama in media for decades now. Though the debate over that region of the world goes back, way back, the constant palestinian child
provocation between the two sides as well as the growing political value of the region has made the battle of interest to the rest of the world. While supporters of both sides point to fully legitimate concerns facing both sides, the reality of the region is far more complex than many outsiders wish to acknowledge and that is what has become such an obstacle to peace.

The most recent kerfuffle in the region, the killing of Turkish activists trying to run a blockade while carrying supplies to the region, has once again brought the conflict of the pained region to global attention. With more ships pushing the Israeli blockade, including an Irish vessel carrying a Nobel Peace Prize winner, the drama is sure to last for a few days longer, once again bringing supporters of both sides into conflict. Behind all the politics though are real people on both sides; Israelis who fear for their health and the well being of their families and Palestinians trying to eke out a meagre living and raise their families in impoverished conditions. Now in a new blow to the region pop singer Miley Cyrus has stated that she will not tour the region until the crisis has been solved.miley cyrus performing

“Because of the ongoing instability in the region and because of the dire personal and economic conditions facing all people in the area we feel that it would be inappropriate to tour the region at this time. We had hoped to get a few shows in during the summer but this recent situation has caused us to change those plans,” said a spokesperson for the singer. “Miley would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to all her fans in the region and reminds them that she hasn’t forgotten about them. Once this situation has been resolved she will be more than happy to tour every country in the region.”

Cyrus’ new album ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ will be released on June 18.

“Frankly this is the last thing these people needed to hear. While this is far from the worst thing to hit the region is still a significant blow to everyone. Art is something miley cyrus tongue
that brings people together no matter their differences and music has the ability to do that better than any other art. While it was far from a certainty that her tour would end thousands of years of conflict everyone needs hope,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “It’s perhaps fitting that this conflict is ongoing as it is the first permanently settled area on the globe. This, essentially, is where modern society and modern combat began so the fact that it continues well into the 21st century makes perfect and tragically ironic sense. Unfortunately even a power like Miley won’t change thousands of years of human history.”

The album will still be released in the region and strong sales are expected in Israel, though not in the Palestinian territories.benjamin netanyahu

“Perhaps this, this threat essentially, can finally do what decades of negotiations and conflict have not been able to do, create understanding. There is a fear that Israel is becoming more conservative which will hinder efforts to create a true a viable solution and will likely only inspire more violence from the Palestinian side. With Miley making this threat perhaps both sides will be motivated to change,” continued Martinez. “I mean she hasn’t been without controversy of her own especially with the sexy nature of her new image but I think that even with that she could help to provoke and inspire some changes in attitudes, which could hopefully lead to peace in our lifetime.”

Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu has reportedly been reconsidering the blockade after news of the cancellations.
