JORAN VAN DER SLOOT HESITANT TO MARRY AFTER RECENT HEARTBREAKS

Lima, Peru – Even though many of the religious overtones associated with marriage have been long removed from the union, the sanctity that religion gave to the process has continued to inform happily married couples all over the world. Borne out of the 
primeval need for protection and companionship marriage has never been perfect but for the majority of people has still been a deeply felt and emotionally satisfying experience. For some though marriage is less an emotional experience and more a tool for personal gain.
Such is often the case for women who become attracted to high profile prison inmates. It is perhaps one of the oddest and most confusing phenomenons in the modern world yet marriages between seemingly rational women and hardened murderers, some even on death row, have continued to grow in popularity. Such appears to be the case with the latest celebrity killer Joran van der Sloot. Though his case is far from decided, the piles of evidence indicate that van der Sloot will indeed join the ranks of notorious murderers and as such will inevitably become an object of desire for certain women. Already the jailed Dutchman has apparently been receiving proposals and though he has not yet accepted, many are concerned that a quickie marriage may end up in heartbreak for the young man whose life has already been so filled with tragedy.
“He has actually received quite a few marriage offers in the last few weeks from women all over the world. He’s actually very proud of this fact but has not pursued any of those offers yet. I do not know the details of those offers or any of the intimate details of the women but he does not seem overly interested in any of them” said a Peruvian prison insider. “I can certainly understand. He has had very poor luck with women and he is understandably reticent to take up a new relationship. I’m sure he is very flattered by the attention but he is human and he can probably only tolerate so much heartbreak in his life.”
Van der Sloot also recently received his very own Wikipedia page which may have contributed to the increase in attention.
“This is really a tragedy all around. The reality is he will likely never see the outside 
world again. He is facing 35 years in one of the worst prisons in the world and his only option to avoid that is to confess to another murder which would give him even more time behind bars. Marriage is slightly impractical because of that long imprisonment,” said Scrape TV Psychology analyst Dr. Sarah Welp. “I’m sure the prospect of that happening is also very much on his mind. Men have this notion of being strong and being the provider in a marriage and even though that role has diminished in recent years it is still embedded in the male of the species. Locked behind bars he simply wouldn’t be able to do that.”
Van der Sloot has requested a transfer to Aruba in exchange for a confession in the Natalee Holloway case which would make conjugal visits more likely.
“There is of course this issue of the murders. I mean it’s likely that he will be convicted whether he did or not but the reality is if even if he is innocent he has really bad luck. Few people even meet someone who is murdered and he has had two in a very short period. Obviously he has rough luck with the ladies,” continued Welp. “I’m sure that’s hanging over him. At least the prison bars will prevent him from doing anything but if he is indeed innocent and simply cursed in some way he could be damning another young lady to a gruesome end. I’m sure that’s the last thing he wants.”
Van der Sloot is reportedly still sifting through the many offers but not yet found one to his liking. Because of his age and the ongoing drama of his case it’s likely that he will have plenty of time to choose.
