EUROPE WAITING FOR CHANCE TO STRIKE AS HEAT WAVE DEATH TOLL INCREASES IN RUSSIA
August 10 2010
Moscow, Russia – War has always been one of the great definers of society. It shifts borders, drives innovation, spurs economies, and gives nations their history. There is of course bloodshed and tragedy in war, but in the grand scale those deaths help to
define the nation. There was, perhaps, been no area of the world more subject to war than Europe. For centuries, the people of that continent have been butchering one another over and over again and in the process, creating the modern world.
One country, Russia, has always been a major player in those conflicts. Whether actively participating or simply involving themselves by proxy, Russia has gained power, wealth, and influence through the conflicts conducted at her door. For the most part however those conflicts have stayed away from Russian borders. The Germans pushed deep before being beaten back but that was an oddity. In the long history of Russia, more than a millennia, the nation has only been conquered once and that by the Mongols, perhaps the most powerful empire that has ever existed. That’s a pretty good record and one that has frustrated many, particularly those who have been hurt by Russian meddling. However, the country is not invincible as the current heat wave is proving. With hundreds dying every day from the temperature and smog, the country is being assaulted like never before making many around the world hopeful that the mighty bear may be softened and open to an assault.
“It’s really, really horrible seeing what’s happening there, the wildfires, the incredible smog and the death toll, it’s really astonishing. I mean they are seeing an average of 700 people a day dying from the conditions, that’s absolutely horrific,” said a European insider. “Hopefully this won’t continue for too long. The people, they are suffering and if the death toll continues at this rate they will start to run out of people for essential services. That would be absolutely horrible, I can’t imagine what would happen then.”
U.S. representatives have been watching the situation carefully and assured Russian officials that recent redeployments in the Sea of Japan are unrelated.
“We would like to offer them help but unfortunately all of our fire equipment is tied up.

We’ve had a series of arsons throughout the countries in the EU and we need to reserve our men and supplies should those things occur again. We wish them the best,” said an EU spokesperson. “I mean we are really concerned and we are making sure that we are watching all the coverage on television and on the internet. We have even asked children in some schools to create murals that express support for the people of Russia in these difficult times. We are also considering creating a little ribbon to support the country in their fight against these deadly fires. Hopefully they will have them under control soon.”
Temperatures in Moscow have reached a blistering 38 degrees, about the same temperature as the rest of Europe.
“There are many reasons that Russia has been such a formidable nation for so long. They have enormous influence and they have the power to back up any threat. They have a massive population that is primed for warfare and their leadership has proven over and over again that they are willing to use that power,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Frankly, it is difficult to actually conquer another country. The United States has proven in Iraq an Afghanistan that in the modern era it’s next to impossible so I think Russia will be safe, unless things start to get really bad. Of course if that happens they will likely strike outwards and that’s bad news for everyone.”
Finland, which successfully fought off Russian forces during the Winter War, have been sending shipments of hot peppers and smoked fish with cayenne pepper to the afflicted region.
