GERMAN OFFICIALS ASSURE PUBLIC THAT DESPITE GOOGLE STREET VIEW COUNTRY IS NOT REALLY BLURRY

October 6 2010

Berlin, Germany – Over the last decade there has been no company that has enjoyed the kind of massive growth and public profile than Google. Though still thought of as simply a search engine, Google has expanded much further than that. google street view car
Their moves into things like social networking and office documents haven’t been earth shattering, but it has expanded their reach. YouTube has of course remained huge but it is one project that has really put them in the public consciousness, Google Maps which are now used by everyone from families planning vacations to fire departments seeking faster routes.

That massive success over such a short period has of course happened before many times. Most recently, it happened in Germany which went from a decaying economic force to a world beater marching across a continent and destroying everything in its way. Germany too branched out into other realms and though many things met with limited success, victory column
some were huge and helped to change the world.  Now those two rival giants have come into conflict over the controversial Google Street View which German officials have protested. In response, Google has blurred out images of the country but German officials want the world to know that the nation is not really blurry in real life.

“We have reached ze deal which will ensure that all the people of Germany are safe from prying eyes. Under zis deal private details such az licence plates and street addresses will be blurred out from view. Many other things will also be distorted so they cannot be read by strangers. However we want to let people know that this is not how the country truly is,” said a spokesperson for the German government. “Germany is a vast and diverse country full of old world charm and new world sophistication. We have a friendly and outgoing population and a rich, deep culture. We must encourage all people to visit our wonderful and non-blurred country.”

Recent visitors to the country have also reported that the nation is indeed not blurry at all.

“Google street view has of course been the subject of a great deal of controversy and brandenburg gate
rightly so in many cases. Private details are being shown to the world, details that not only should remain private for personal reasons but also because they could reveal a way in which criminals could exploit people. This type of blurring has become more and more common and it likely will continue to be so going forward,” said Scrape TV Technology analyst Ken Kevins. “Until that time though people will not be used to the blurring and it is inevitably going to bring about a lot of confusion. As more and more countries are blurred away people will start to understand that this is just on the Street View site and not an accurate depiction of real life, hopefully at least.”google street view samurais

Thus far it appears that no countries that have been blurred on the site are actually blurry in real life.

“In many ways it’s a shame that this has to happen. Germany is such a beautiful place and it would be nice to be able to see it without actually having to go there but unfortunately there are a few bad seeds and they ruin it for everyone else,” continued Kevins. “I’d personally like to see a world without any blurring but I don’t think the nature of human beings will allow that to happen.”

Poland also enacted measures to have their streets blurred. Germany reportedly requested a full version of the uncensored street view before it was altered.
