AFGHAN GOVERNMENT GIVEN BAGS AND BAGS OF MONEY BY IRAN

October 27 2010

Kabul, Afghanistan – It is entirely possible that the country of Afghanistan will never join the modern world. That the country is so far behind the advances not only of the west but even of her neighbours that it will simply never be able to compete. Aside afghanistan destroyed
from war and massive corruption, the country has a dramatic identity crisis with huge swathes of the population not even realizing that they live in a country named Afghanistan, never mind wanting to participate in her rebuilding and future.

It is perhaps one of the great ironies of the country that it is exactly those efforts to modernize that have left the country in such disarray.  Whether it was the Turks, the Mongols, the Persians, the Sikhs, the Soviets, the Taliban, or the current coalition interfering with the country nothing has seemed to stick no matter the political or ethical stance of the invaders. Through all of these events Afghanistan has simply fractured more, become even more segregated from the rest of the world, and become a wilder and wilder region. The current efforts in the country though may provide the best attempt yet to forge a true nation with a formidable government in place and police and military infrastructures improving, due in large part to the military might of the United States and her partners, as well as the money flowing in from Iran which is helping to pay for the still nascent government.garbage bag full of money

“The cash payments are done by various friendly countries to help the president's office and to help dispense assistance in various ways to the employees around here, to people outside, and this is transparent and this is something that I have discussed,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast  of the bags of cash being delivered from Tehran. “Iran, as a neighbouring country, has helped a lot in order to reconstruct Afghanistan and that help was started by the former government. Iran is helping Afghanistan and will continue in the future with these fabulous bags of cash being delivered to the Presidential palace.”

The Karzai government has fallen under harsh criticism for accepting funds from a government so openly hostile to the United States, which has plunged billions into the nation.hamid karzai smiling

“Afghanistan is complicated country and there it makes perfect sense to accept money from two opposing forces. This may seem something abhorrent to us in the west who are used to choosing a side and sticking with it, but that is simply not the case in the rest of the world who don’t have the luxury of making enemies,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Iran has a vested interest in a stable Afghanistan. Iran has traditionally made messes far away from their borders, like in Israel, and having American forces so close to their area of the world is understandably a little uncomfortable. Plus, they want an in for when the U.S. forces leave.”

“From the Afghan perspective any money is welcome money. There is simply no way to finance huge palaces and luxurious foreign trips when you only have money coming in from one source. Like any smart investor you need to diversify your portfolio in case one avenue dries up,” continued Hander. “Besides, Karzai and his people know that the good times won’t last forever. Once the coalition forces withdraw the Taliban will pour back in and run the country ragged again. At that time this plan to accept money from Iran and whomever is willing to give it will make a lot of sense. Swiss bank accounts simply won’t hold zero balance.”

Karzai has reportedly been in deep discussions with representatives from the North Korean government but no deal has yet been set.
