BABY DOC DUVALIER WILLING TO ACCEPT BURDEN OF RULE IN HAITI AGAIN

January 18 2011

Port-au-Prince, Haiti – People lust after power like no other commodity. Sex and money are most certainly highly sought after assets but are, after all, relatively common. Power though, really power, the power to control huge numbers of people napoleon
and infrastructure, is very rare and for that reason alone is a compelling draw for many people. Of all the venues for such power one above all draws the most interest and the greatest battle, that venue is of course ruling a country.

For as long as human beings have organized in societies, we have lusted after control of those realms. In the past that power was absolute, with Emperors, Kings, and Caesar’s ruling over their dominions with absolute control and all the benefits associated with that. Now the control is far diminished from that degree of authority with only a few remaining dictatorships remaining in the world, but still the lust for power, the control over the tribe, remains no matter the size or disposition of the country. It is bred into us, the power to control others, which explains why that authority remains regardless of the nature of the people being baby doc
ruled. Still, with power comes a great deal of pressure and stress, something Jean-Claude ‘Baby Doc’ Duvalier found out the hard way many years ago. Still, with his country in turmoil the former leader has now returned and is willing, albeit reluctantly, to once again assume control of his nation.

“We are very happy to be back on Haitian soil. Mr. Duvalier has been away for far too long and he felt that in his people’s time of suffering that he had no choice but to return, to try and restore the faith and dignity of the people of this country,” said a spokesperson for the former President. “This is a time of great trial for Haiti and he felt it was time to return, to once again lead the people of the country. He does not go into this challenge lightly and in fact contemplated not returning, but ultimately felt it was the best thing for the people and country and that is of principle importance.” baby doc duvalier

Duvalier ruled over Haiti for fifteen years but left office admit accusations of corruption and inaction. He has lived in exile since 1986.

“This is major move in the region. The Duvalier family, for all their faults, have a long history in the country and there is no denying the influence they had over the country. Bleeding the country of money, having people disappear in the middle of the night, these things are bad but common in the country,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Realistically, if Duvalier saw no value in the country he never would have taken all those millions of dollars from the nation or allowed his people to suffer hunger and malnutrition for the sake of the betterment of the country. This is his legacy, and something the people of the country would surely benefit from returning to.”

Duvalier had planned to return to the country in 2004 but did not for unknown reasons.haiti earthquake presindetial palace

“Haiti is a country that has undergone many hard times throughout the years and things are as bad there now as they ever have been. Things just don’t seem to be improving and so it means a great deal that Duvalier is willing to put aside his personal well being and once again dedicate himself to the betterment of the Haitian people,” continued Hander. “I think this return will mean great things for the country, for the people, and hope for Duvalier as well. After all this time he deserves a little success, especially after making this sacrifice. Hopefully the fates are with him.”

Duvalier had reportedly fallen on hard times of late with only a few million dollars to his name.
