AL-ZAWAHIRI INAUGURATION TO TAKE PLACE IN PAKISTAN

June 18 2011

Abbottabad, Pakistan – Everyone hates their boss. Well, almost everyone. Usually that hatred, or at least strong dislike, isn’t due to the person themselves but is tied directly to the position. Traits which we might overlook in a peer are often amplified in bill lumbergh office space
a superior, making them a source of frustration. Couple that with being told what to do, often things which are degrading or next to impossible, and you have a toxic mix which ends up with a lot of dislike for a lot of bosses all around the world.

However not having a boss can be even worse. While there are likely very few people who haven’t felt momentarily exhilarated at the sudden ouster of a superior, very quickly that euphoria can turn to distraction and serious problems. Those types of power vacuums are not only disruptive to running a system effectively, they can actually be damaging to the employees themselves. As much as we hate having a boss, that type of top-down structure works and is in place for a reason. The type of infighting and lack of focus that affects such environments has no doubt been plaguing Al-Qaeda over the last month and half. The sudden departure of their leader no doubt shocked the workers and left many wondering about the future. Now, finally, that future has been solidified as Ayman al-Zawahiri takes the tip spot to lead the organization into the future. Already working in the position, al-Zawahiri will be inaugurated sometime in early July at a ceremony in Pakistan.

“The general command of al-Qaeda announces, after consultations, the appointment of Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri as head of the group. We seek with the aid of God to call Ayman al-Zawahiri osama bin laden
for the religion of truth and incite our nation to fight ,” the organization said in a statement “By carrying out jihad against the apostate invaders ... with their head being crusader America and its servant Israel, and whoever supports them.”

It’s believed that preparations for the ceremony have been underway for a few weeks. The Pakistani will be providing security.

“It’s very much a relief to see that they have finally resolved this situation. I mean everyone knew it would be al-Zawahiri but the formalization of this makes things a lot easier on everyone. I’m sure that a lot of Al-Qaeda members will be thrilled with this announcement because it means things are going to start settling down a little bit. It’s been a rough time for them of late,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “I don’t know that al-Zawahiri is the best choice for the job, but he has certainly earned it. He has been there since the beginning and did a lot of the day-to-day tasks already so there really shouldn’t be much of a transition process, at least one hopes. I’m sure there will be people who will dispute his ascendance, but he really is the sensible choice.”

Al-Zawahiri co-founded the organization with Osama bin Laden in the late 1980’s.Ayman al-Zawahiri

“Personally I’m really looking forward to the ceremonies. They don’t typically put on much of a show, but it’s always compelling to watch and this one is a big deal. Remember that they have never had this type of thing before. There have been promotions of lower level people but never the top boss and so this could be a lot of fun,” continued Davids. “I imagine there will be a lot of prayer and lot of cursing Israel and the west, but from what I’ve seen when they really let loose al-Qaeda can be a lot of fun. Women with bare ankles, fruit punch. They even turn up the prayers, to like eleven. They aren’t the stick-in-the-muds that most people assume them to be. I hope that I get an invite. I’ve already submitted my name to the Pakistani government. Fingers crossed.”

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari may not attend the ceremony as he will be out of the country in early July.
