GADDAFI APPARENTLY HEARING SEALS HARPING OUTSIDE HIS COMPOUND

Rome, Italy – This year has seen profound and likely deeply impactful movements all across the Islamic world. The latest incident is of course the killing of Osama bin Laden, but that was only one step in a much wider change. The revolutions 
throughout Africa and the Middle East have quickly proven to be transformative, and events that may eventually lead to a maturing of Islamic nations as they step boldly into the modern and civilized world. While bin Laden’s death will most certainly be a legendary event, his removal is ultimately a footnote in the overall movement.
Key to the movement though is of course momentum, something which appeared to be non-stop for a few months, but which has largely stopped in recent weeks. The biggest obstacle to that movement has of course been the conflict in Libya which has gone far beyond what anyone had hoped, and which now months later appears to only be getting worse as Libyan forces bombard rebel held towns and, apparently, prepare their soldiers for the use of chemical weapons. The chief component to that particular conflict is undoubtedly Muammar Gaddafi who has steadfastly and aggressively held onto his rule despite the urging of just about the entire world. Now the United States and her allies have decided to take a much more aggressive tact in dealing with the Libyan leader, pledging material support to rebel forces. Gaddafi though has remained defiant, despite a deteriorating mental state which has him apparently complaining about harping seals outside his office.
“We have made it abundantly clear that the best way to protect civilians is for Gadhafi to cease his ruthless, brutal attack on civilians from the west to the east, to withdraw 
from the cities that he is sieging and attacking and to leave power. This is the outcome we are seeking,” said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “These efforts seek to support the will of the Libyan people, not the dictator who has caused so much trauma and pain for them. These are actions we take to support the people of that nation.”
It’s not yet clear what actions the United States has decided to take, but insiders indicate that they are concerned about reports regarding Gaddafi’s mental state.
“Obviously the situation on the ground is the greatest concern, but there has been more chatter in recent weeks that Gaddafi himself may not be entirely stable, at least less stable than usual, and that could lead to serious problems,” said a U.S. government insider. “The last thing anyone wants is to have a man who is already aggressive to start to see and hear things. If his mental state erodes significantly it could lead to serious and tragic consequences. These reports of hearing seals everywhere, which has only begun this week, well that is very disturbing to many of us and a sign that things might suddenly start getting worse.”
The Mediterranean Monk Seal is common to the area, though none have ever been reported in Tripoli proper.
“Hallucinations are most certainly a disturbing sign for someone in a position of power. These sounds, these seal sounds, are likely a result of something deep in his past that have suddenly manifested in these types of auditory hallucinations. It isn’t the sounds themselves that important, they are simply the manifestation of the underlying condition,” said Scrape TV Psychology analyst Dr. Sarah Welp. “Hallucinations can be isolated, but are often a result of a deteriorating mental state, particularly in people of advanced age. If he is suffering from early dementia or some other ailment, well that has to be a particular concern to military people because it could cause him to do unusual things. I can assure you that the seals he is hearing are in his own mind.”
