HOSNI MUBARAK’S HEART NOT REALLY INTO QUESTIONING

April 13 2011

Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt – The story of dictators, at least in the modern age, rarely has a good ending. While some have certainly been able to hold on until the end, maintaining their empire and dying with a certain degree of grace, the vast majority of nicolai ceausescu
autocrats have left their positions in less than dignified ways. Mussolini, Ceausescu, Milosevic, Hussein, and of course Hitler all saw the end of their rule come crashing down well beyond their control, something they had exercised for so long.

That ignoble end is not uncommon to long rules, after all the longer a person stays in power the more enemies they will create, which in turn leads to the decline of Emperors and Pharaohs. Such ends are not isolated to modern leaders either. Xerxes, Julius Caesar, and countless Kings and Queens have all met their ends in ways not of their choosing, an end that in many ways betrays the acts of their lives. While there is certainly great historical precedent for such eventualities, in the modern word such ignominious ends are far more common. Higher levels of education and a growing awareness of the world by the masses have made such long term rule very challenging, something very clear on display throughout Africa and the Middle East today, something very real to the former leaders of those countries. Now one of those, Hosni Mubarak, is being asked to face the music, to pay the piper, something his heart just doesn’t appear to be into doing.emergency room

“Mr. Mubarak was rushed to hospital late on Monday after enduring a heart attack. His health issue became apparent as he was being asked questions regarding certain aspects of his time in office as President. At this point his health appears to be unstable,” said a spokesperson for the Egyptian government. “We are monitoring the situation very closely and as soon as his health allows we will resume questioning. At this stage he is not able to answer questions.”

Mubarak was being questioned in regards to a subpoena issued against the former leader and his sons on the weekend.

“It was fairly clear that he did not believe that he had done anything wrong or that he
had anything to answer for. He came out actively and made statement declaring his hosni mubarak mad
innocence in respect to these charges and that indicates that it’s going to be very difficult getting straight answers out of him. He is very defiant,” said a government insider. “From what I have been told he was very evasive with the investigators, looking away at the walls and trying to steer the conversation in different directions. It was clear that he was trying to avoid the questions, not because he was trying to seem innocent, at least not according to the people I spoke with. To them it seemed like he just didn’t want to be there. I guess it’s understandable that his heart just wouldn’t be into something like that.”

Late reports indicated that investigators were able to continue limited questioning at the hospital.

“For someone like Mubarak, whose entire life has been predicated on control, being put in the position of having no control, of being forced out on someone else’s terms is just hosni mubarak sad
about as bad as things can get. His entire world is built on being in charge, and now other people are in charge of him and that has to be demoralizing,” said Scrape TV Government Oppression analyst Gene Wilkers. “The people questioning him now are people that would have knelt before him just a few months ago. That has to be hard and so it is understandable that he wouldn’t really be into doing it, even if he has little choice. Hopefully he sticks with it though, keeps his head up and stay strong. He can always say he went out with his head held high and no one can ever take that from him, even if they remove his head from his body, it will still be held high.”

Former Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has also apparently taken ill with a stomach bug.
