ROYAL WATCHERS FEAR THE WORST AFTER WILLS AND KATE CANCEL HONEYMOON

May 1 2011

London, U.K. – For most people getting married is the peak of one’s life, at least up until that point. All those awkward moments in dark rooms, all those failed romances, all those hurt feelings, they all vanish that day when a person betroths themselves to marriage
one person. Never again will they have that tension of the first date, or the first kiss, or the first fumbling and uncomfortable touches. Marriage is the culmination of a lifetime of anticipation, and of course a tribute to the love between two people.

Marriage though is of course not the grand romance that many people would like it to be. While love and passion certainly break through a lot of barriers, the stress of living with one person for the remainder of one’s life can get to some people, often resulting in terrible marriages and frequently divorce. Occasionally those doomed relationships are a result of mismatches or misguided, youthful indiscretions and come as a surprise to everyone involved. Sometimes though, the warning signs are very clear to everyone but the couple themselves, wrapped up as they are in each other, often resulting in hard lessons for the young couple. At first glance, such an eventuality did not seem to be the case for William and Kate, the recently wedded Duke and Duchess Cambridge, but after word that the couple has delayed, and possibly cancelled, the honeymoon in favour of work, many observers are voicing grave concerns for the future of the couple.prince william helicopter

“We had all been speculating as to their destination, with the smart money being on Jordan, though other exotic locales such as the British Virgin Islands and Kenya also being possibilities. However it seems now that they are going nowhere,” said royal observer Niles Wattingham. “Officially William will be returning to work with the RAF, which is reasonable I suppose but he did book this time off. This makes one very suspect about the way in which this marriage is going to be run.”

The couple did spend the weekend together, but will be back in London on Monday.

“I know that for Kate this is culmination of a lifelong dream, I mean she married a real life prince. That is the fantasy for just about every little girl. Unfortunately it is entirely possible that her desire to see that happen allowed her to overlook William’s lesser characteristics, including his workaholism,” continued Wattingham. “Now she will be stuck at home on one of their many mansions while he is off adventuring. For now, while the passion is strong, that will be fine but eventually it will start to takes its toll on her and the marriage. All those empty hallways, all those obedient servants, and her without a man she loves. I think this delay will be something that comes to symbolize the real problems with this marriage unfortunately.”kate middleton drinking

The couple will apparently still have a honeymoon at some point, though when and where is not exactly clear.

“Unfortunately this is a scenario that plays out very often. William came from perhaps the most famous of broken homes and that will impact the way in which he see marriage. It’s sad, but that type of scenario is something which plays out over and over again. Children of broken marriages have their own failed marriages, at least one, and that happens in both royal and common circles. I have to say that this delay is most certainly not a good sign. Not a definite of course, but really not a good sign at all.”

Prince Harry has reportedly been spending a great deal of time in and around the couple’s official leading up to the marriage.
