WESLEY SNIPES GIVES STRUGGLING PRISON APP DEVELOPERS A BOOST

January 14 2011

Lewis Run, PA – Prison life is rarely as it is portrayed in movies. While the dangers and violence of such an existence are most certainly a reality, the vast majority of life in prison is spent in the doldrums, passively waiting for the next thing to happen. death warrant jean claude van damme
Unlike life outside prison walls, one cannot simply get out and go for a walk or grab a movie when life gets a little slow. Boredom and banality are standards of prison life, and hardly the most compelling thing to put onscreen.

That reality is something Wesley Snipes is most certainly learning right now. Though he has spent the majority of his life creating fictional realities on screen, the life he is living now is far from that fantasy world as he whiles his time away in a Pennsylvania prison on a tax fraud conviction. Snipes though appears to not be resting quietly, lamenting his lot in life or worrying too much about what the future might hold. Instead, Snipes his pending his time away from the world trying to be productive, becoming actively involved in the still burgeoning iPad app industry that over the last few months has been languishing without the participation of major players, hoping to bring the prison web development industry a new level of respectability.wesley snipes court

“Julius Styles will offer something for both the mind game strategist and the kick-ass special ops warrior lover. Julius Styles pits your street knowledge survival skills with your academic intellect and spiritual intuition. The game was inspired by my desire to bring my Art of War, Murder at 1600 and Passenger 57 characters into the game world,” said Snipes from prison of the new title, ‘Julius Styles’. “This is an opportunity to engage people in an totally new way, to bring a level of spirituality and a new life experience to people and I am thrilled to be a part of it. We hope this is just the beginning of a new world.”

The game is believed to be an action title that will involve the lead character desperately trying to evade authorities who believe he is someone he is not. It’s not clear if Snipes’ real life tax woes will factor into the game play.steve jobs ipad

“I don’t think that anyone in the game industry would have believed that apps and games on phones and the like would have become some major players in the industry, but that’s exactly what has happened. Apple has become one of the biggest players in video games, something totally unimaginable even a year ago,” said Scrape TV Gaming analyst Graeme Hawthorne. “We are in that era though and as the popularity increases amongst players, so too does it increase amongst developers. It really is a massive growth industry and there is no better evidence of that than in the rise of prison-based industry which has been cropping up over the last little while.”

Prison-developed apps are currently under one percent of total available apps on the iPad and iPhone.wesley snipes

“I realize that a lot of people will immediately dismiss this project because Snipes has become very much a joke in recent years but it is going to be high profile and I’m sure a lot of people will check it out simply because of the noise around it which could mean very big things for prison developers as a whole,” continued Hawthorne. “The reality is there aren’t very many high profile people in prison right now, at least not many in touch with the gaming world, and that leaves it to Snipes. I think this could mean great things for the industry and could radically transform the way apps are built, bought, and taxed across the board.”

iPad sales have reportedly been brisk throughout the U.S. prison system including record seasonal sales at Snipes’ McKean Federal Correctional Institution.
