CHENEY FAMILY CELEBRATING AFTER LATEST HEART ATTACK PUTS RECORD IN REACH

Washington, D.C. – Essentially, the heart is just a big tough muscle. It pulses constantly, processing blood and pushing it all around our bodies. Like many organ it would obviously be very difficult to live without the heart, but for all its biological
necessity, the heart has a much more important role in the human animal. It is the centre of our passion, of our love, of our hate, and of our determination. While much of those notions are largely romantic, because of the way they have permeated our identity they ring as honest as any biological truth.
Throughout history poets, politicians, and just about everyone else in between has attempted to ascertain the true nature of the heart, the philosophical one at least to limited success. It is the biological one however, that continues to confound us despite a vast knowledge of how it technically works. With heart disease still one of 
the leading killers across the western world, it is the dangers posed to the biological elements of the muscle in our chest that remain more important than any philosophical component. There is one man who has learned that lesson better than anyone, a man who has put more strain and more pressure on the human heart than perhaps anyone else in history and lived to talk about it. Former Vice-President Dick Cheney, alongside his family, are celebrating his latest heart attack that now puts him within striking distance of the all time record.
“Former Vice President Cheney was admitted to George Washington University Hospital after experiencing chest pain. Lab testing revealed evidence of a mild heart attack. He underwent a stress test and a heart catheterization. He is feeling good and is expected to be discharged in the next day or two,” said the Cheney family in a statement. “Everyone is in good spirits and once he is back up on his feet we will all come together for a big celebration. This is a momentous occasion in an already remarkable life and we want to ensure that it is enjoyed properly.”
Cheney has had four previous heart attacks and a number of ‘heart incidents’ that have also included angioplasties and bypasses. Seven is generally considered the record, made by a South Dakota man over a two year span. Cheney’s longevity however has put him at the upper echelon.
“People hear about heart attacks and almost dismiss them because they have become so common but the truth is they can be very severe. A major heart attack, even if one survives it, can prove fatal in the long term. The damage caused to the tissue after an attack can completely compromise the muscle and lead to death,” said Scrape TV Medical analyst Dr. Phillip Waites. “What that means is the more heart problems one has, the greater the risk of death. The heart does not simply heal itself like other body parts. With every attack it gets weaker and so for anyone to carry on with so many problems for so long is really quite remarkable.”
Cheney suffered his first heart attack at 37. He turned 69 in January.
“The reason the sheer number of incidents is so low is because most of these people have died. Cheney however is quite a different person. He has survived multiple governments, decades in politics, and the last eight years that were obviously a tough time. Perhaps the poets have always been right, that there is a correlation between the body and the person,” continued Waites. “His pace has been reduced recently but as he gets into his seventies and is apparently doing nothing to really take care of himself there is a very good chance that he could break the record. The family should take this time to celebrate, but not ignore the real chance at breaking the record.”
Cheney reportedly plans on celebrating with a rare steak with a side of French fries and a lot of coffee.
