CONTROVERSIAL CANCER DIET FINDING FEW FANS

November 20 2010

Washington, D.C. – For centuries, weight loss was something no one ever considered. In many cultures great weight was actually a sign of good breeding, wealth, and success. In the modern era that has changed dramatically with the rise of weight loss
fast food and the quest by many for a healthier lifestyle. Now the better off tend to be thin while the least amongst us tend to be the most obese with the most affordable food being the least nutritious. Now with the masses suffering serious health effects from that obesity, a focus on healthy eating is not only warranted, but essential.

Like any fresh trend the rise in healthy eating and exercise has brought about all kinds of profiteers. Some no doubt provide sound advice and an effective path towards weight loss but others exploit the concerns and hopes of people in order to make a quick buck. Often too those seeking to simply make money from people offer the solution that many obese people most seek, ease, thus creating a vicious circle that results in poor health all around. Now a new weight loss program, one with proven results, has turned the entire industry on its ear with many lauding it as the answer to everyone’s prayers and others warning that it is simply another in a long line of false promise that could end up being dangerous. That answer: Cancer.cancer cell

“Essentially the idea is we take cells from a cancer patient and inject them into the subject. We use simply cancer cells, generally breast cancer, and inject them in easy to remove places. When the patient finally contracts the disease weight loss is immediate and because the cancer itself can be cured, everyone wins,” said Dr. Rand Kimble, creator of the therapy. “There is of course an inherent risk in undertaking any advanced medical procedure but if you look at it realistically you could be hit by a car while running down the street. There’s danger in any weight loss program and ours is no better and no worse.”

Thus far the treatment is only available in clinical trials.cancer patient

“People will try pretty much anything to lose weight, and that makes sense because the majority of people are really fat. Obesity causes all kinds of health problems which we already know but it also makes people extremely unattractive and causes them to take up all kinds of extra room. Whether it’s on an airplane or in the movie theatre the reality is they take up a lot of room,” said Scrape TV Health analyst Rebecca Phelps. “Most overweight people realize this and want to better their situation which is why the health industry has done so much business in recent years. That too is the reason why these magic cures never work. The whole idea in business is that you want people to keep coming back and if you solve all their problems you go out of business. No one in the industry wants skinnies.”

Cancer is still one of the leading causes of death in the United States though it pales in comparison to weight related deaths from things such as heart failure.fat woman

“Cancer is dangerous and playing with the disease could cause problems but if it can allow a few people to lose weight it may be worth it. We can’t start giving people the bad cancers like brain or prostate but these curable versions are something different. The biggest challenge will be getting people to continue treatment after they’ve lost weight. Just because they are skinny it doesn’t mean they are motivated,” continued Phelps. “Frankly I really doubt this will catch on. There’s all the puking and hair loss and I think that will be enough to keep people away. Never mind the fact that you will have cancer, the work that goes into it is just way too much for most people.”
