STUDY SHOWS MORE FATTIES AROUND THE WORLD BEING RIDICULED

April 5 2011

Phoenix, AZ -  For a long time weight was not issue of any discernable import, at least in a negative sense. If anything obesity was a sign of high status, something only gained through steady access to high fat foods, something to which the vast henry viii
majority of people have traditionally had only limited access. In those cultures obesity was something to dream of, even to strive for, but something that most people would never achieve in their lifetimes.

Things have certainly changed in western culture. Access to food on an unprecedented scale all across the world has caused a great deal of excess amongst many people causing a reversal of fortunes with some of the poorest people now the most obese and wealthy people paying thousands of dollars in order to stay thin. That switch has also created a change in attitudes towards obesity, changing it from an embellishment to a disease, a disease which has afflicted millions and become a significant health and social issue. Now a new study has shown that such shifting attitudes are not only occurring in western nations but that they have actually started to spread across the globe with prejudice towards the obese becoming a new standard and just one more battle that the fatties of the world have to fight.

“This study shows a dramatic shift in attitudes towards the obese, showing that kid eating burger
people are not only starting to favour thin bodies but that they are also starting to actively dislike obese bodies. This negative perception of fat people isn’t just isolated to western nations but has spread into areas where obesity was once celebrated,” said one thin researcher at Arizona State University. “Places like American Samoa, Paraguay, and Mexico have some of the highest recorded negative attitudes towards obese people, areas that traditionally had no such prejudices. There are likely a number of factors contributing to this change but one of the biggest we believe is the characterization of obesity as a disease, given people’s general attitudes towards disease.”

The study did not detail any difference between the slightly portly and out-and-out hunks of lard.

“We believe this shifting attitude is likely to continue across the world and is only fat kid
mildly related to the actual numbers of obese people, rather it is the characterization itself that is causing the issue. When people think of disease they tend to think of something transmittable, though as yet we have never recorded fat particles moving through the air and infecting others,” continued the researcher. “This unfortunately doesn’t just impact the people who are obese from overeating but also the people who suffer from other causes of obesity such as glandular disorders, which is real by the way. Some people aren’t fat because they eat like cows, they gain weight for a number of other reasons.”

Lack of exercise and hiding food in one’s mouth are considered leading factors in obesity.

“You look at other types of people and they aren’t characterized as diseases, things like fat guy eating giant burger
being gay or being Asian. These are simply the way people are and we have come a long way in changing those attitudes but have taken a completely different course of action when it comes to obese people, and tubbies in general,” said Scrape TV Health analyst Rebecca Phelps. “I think though at this stage there is little that can be done to reverse that trend. This particular ball has already started to roll and its momentum is only going to increase especially as people continue to get larger and larger, which itself is something that seems to just be expanding and expanding and expanding.”

The study also showed an increase in creativity in respect to the types of names used to describe the overweight.
