RAHM EMANUEL APOLOGIZES FOR REALLY RETARDED REMARK

Washington, D.C. – When Darwin first postulated the theory of survival of the fittest it was intended to simply explain natural processes that have allowed some species to thrive and others to fall away. While much of Darwin’s writings have been perverted in 
recent years by those with a political edge to gain from eschewing science, many of his theories stand today, over 150 years after the publication of his seminal work. Findings, such as the likely extinction of Neanderthals and the success of Homo Sapiens, seem to prove Darwin’s theories correct and put the naysayers on the defensive.
Human beings though are not the sum of our parts. While our ancient history is no doubt littered with the corpses of extinct species, part of what has made us great, our self-awareness, has helped us to change that natural state. Bans on whaling for example, or the attempts to clone extinct species show that we are truly capable of overcoming our natural state and rendering the entire concept of ‘survival of the fittest’ moot at best. 
The outpouring of support for Haiti is the most recent mainstream example of that eschewing of our natural state. Every day, whether it’s spare change in the donation box at the supermarket or donating clothes to Goodwill, we are embracing what makes the human animal unique. The best example of such charity if of course in the mentally and physically ill who could not survive without our support, something that makes White House Rahm Emanuel’s recent behaviour all the more unsettling and disturbing. Now Emanuel has apologized for his comments that certain liberals were ‘F—ing retarded’ after a raft of complaints from a number of advocacy groups. Emanuel, admitting that his words were less than thoughtful despite them being off the record, and that he was a bit dim-witted for speaking so brashly.
“I was a pinhead, and I am sorry. There is nothing more moronic or bird-brained than using a slur that can be perceived as offensive by the wrong group. My intention was not to offend disabled people but rather liberals and that has gotten lost in this mess,” said Emanuel. “All of us at times have been a little dim or half-witted and I apologize for being so insensitive to the retarded people across the country. I will endeavour to watch my tongue in the future and not be so lamebrained in the future.”
Emanuel’s comments were particularly offensive to the CEO of the Special Olympics Tim Shriver who also happens to be Democrat royalty.
“It was really a moronic thing to say but we accept his apology. We understand that Mr. Emanuel speaks off the cuff sometimes but he must recognize that he is now in a different position and so his words carry a different kind of weight,” said Shriver after the apology. “We expect that he has learned his lesson and that going forward he won’t be making such feeble-minded remarks.”
Emanuel has a reputation for speaking brashly and being actively aggressive in speech in his actions, both signs of Tourette Syndrome, a major mental illness.
“Only a serious head-case would make such a comment in his position. Virtually every word he says is going to be scrutinized and over analyzed and such things are just bone-headed. They give the opposition just the right opportunity to jump, and right now that is exactly what the Obama administration does not need,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “It’s really just a birdbrained move that he will hopefully learn from. What a dumbbell.”
Sarah Palin, who herself has waged a very public struggle with mental illness, also criticized the comment. It’s believed she is very proud of herself for doing so.
