BOBBY JINDAL TO ASK BP TO ERECT MASSIVE OIL SHIELD
May 10 2010
Baton Rouge, LA – It has been said that the kind of ruthless ambition that is required to attain public office rarely allows for strong ethics and a moral compass. That the kind of abstract and compassionate thinking that is required to truly affect
change in the world cannot be housed in the same mind alongside the ego that drives people to successfully gain power. Occasionally those two qualities exist in abundance in certain individuals but more often than not the people that gain office, particularly at major levels, are largely devoid of such empathy and act primarily to preserve power.
There is no better example of that then when people push for the biggest office in the world, the President of the United States. Though the leader of any nation is due respect, the leader of the most powerful and influential country in the world earns slightly more than others, making it a very much sought after position. In the United States of course, blood is in the water. With record low polling numbers and a growing power in the conservative movement, Republicans are seeing their chance to strike and one of the major players, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is making his state’s latest crisis – the gulf oil spill – as his moment to shine, asking British Petroleum to erect a giant shield to prevent such actions in the future.
“We plan to ask BP to pay for a new plan to prevent the damage that is coming to our shores from ever happening again. We plan to dredge up miles of barrier islands to help prevent any future oil slicks from reaching our shores. While it will take some time before this is completed, even a small amount of dredging will help in our current situation,” said Jindal. “Because of the cost we will be asking BP to fund to project which we estimate will take between four and six months to complete. We will then embark on a much larger plan to erect a massive dome around the state.”
Jindal campaigned on a dome platform when he ran for Governor but the economic crisis put those plans on the backburner.
“It’s clear that if companies are going to continue to drill at these depths such
incidents are going to occur. They are rare but when they do happen they are
devastating and everything that can be done to prevent the damage that can occur should be done,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Earthen barriers have proven to be particularly effective when it comes to these types of incidents and can even effect the movement of hurricanes. They do however have an effect on fisheries but far less than the impact of gallons of oil and so are the lesser of two evils. Of course this secondary plan is a different beast altogether and could do wonders for the efforts to protect the environment.”
It’s not clear what exactly the dome would be made from but the engineering required is believed non-existent at this time.
“Science fiction has dreamt of domed cities for years but a domed state is something else entirely. The sheer ambition of the project is something that no one really imagined plausible but with the mid-terms coming up and a real opportunity for the Republicans to take the White House this is exactly the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that is required,” continued Kinsey. “The advantage here is that it not only aids Jindal but it also helps the people of the state, a fusion that is really rare in politics. This is Jindal’s golden moment and if he plays this right he and the state will win big.”
Because Louisiana is not round it’s believed that they will have to annex sections of surrounding states.
