BUSH STILL CONSIDERING BOMBING SYRIA
November 7 2010
Crawford, TX – At the height of his Presidency one could argue that no President in the history of the United States had as much to endure as George W. Bush. With wars raging on two fronts, aggression and palpable danger coming from a half dozen

areas of the world, and domestic issues that would have made any President blanche the reality of the Presidency at that moment in history was about as bleak as possible, even for a job that is rarely equipped with much joy.
While historians will debate for years the successes and failures of the Bush Presidency, one man, the man himself, has stepped forward and given his view on those historic eight years in office. Mostly quiet since his departure from office, Bush has now released a memoir that covers everything; from his early days in college to his end days as leader of the free world. Amongst the many revelations in the book is the admission that he nearly ordered the bombing of a Syrian nuclear facility in 2007 at the request of the Israeli government. While he did eventually back off (the facility was destroyed by Israeli forces later on) Bush has now gone on record stating that not only had it been discussed, they had begun preliminary preparations, plans Bush would still like to use if he decides to eventually bomb the country.
“It was a tough decision at the time but ultimately we decided that attacking a sovereign country with no warning and no real cause would have caused a lot of blowback and potentially further destabilized the region. Such a course of action was just not in the best interests of the American people,” said Bush. “Israel did what they thought was necessary to protect their own sovereignty and I have no opinion on their actions. I will say though that we still have those attack plans on file and we will use them if we ever determine that Syria becomes and international threat.”
Officially, Israel has never confirmed bombing the facility which was destroyed in late 2007.
“Syria has been for a long time a facilitator of attacks against Israel as so it makes sense that they would deem any kind of nuclear production as a threat to their
borders and their people. The funding and arming of Hezbollah has caused a lot of turmoil in northern Israel and has caused a great deal of instability in Lebanon which is of direct interest to the Israelis,” said Scrape TV Middle East analyst David Gershwin. “Syria is of continuing interest to Israel and so it is of continuing interest to the United States. However George Bush has limited influence now and simply cannot order the bombing of Syria or any other country. Once out of office that right and responsibility passes onto the next person and simply cannot be continued by the former President.”
The Bush ranch in Crawford is a sprawling 1583 acre parcel of land that supposedly does not house any ICBM’s or other military facilities.
“I’m sure George Bush still has a lot of contacts in Washington even if a lot of them would have stayed away for a little while after he left office. Time heals all wounds though and he’s stayed out of the limelight for long enough which will get people talking to him again. That said, I doubt anyone is going to launch any kind of assault on his word,” continued Gershwin. “Military operations are solely the purview of the Commander-in-Chief which right now is Barack Obama. I’m sure people in power would have some level of respect for the former President but not enough to start bombing foreign countries. That’s stretching a little bit. Perhaps if Bush can build up his own military he can do something but that’s easier said than done.”
Syrian officials had no comment.
