MAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING NANCY PELOSI TO UNDERGO EVALUATION BY GOP

Washington, D.C. – Threats against public officials are nothing new, even in American politics. Through history Presidents, Emperors, Kings, and every manner of politician have been threatened in some way. A rare few have even been subjected to
much more than threats and ended up as legends. While a few of those threats are undoubtedly brought about as a result of genuine political or social turmoil, the vast majority of them are a result of mental instability and psychotic delusions by disturbed people.
At first glance it is the latter of those circumstances that appears to be the case Gregory Lee Giusti who appeared in federal court on Thursday after being accused of making threatening calls to House speak Nancy Pelosi. Giusti, who has previously been convicted of making harassing calls, will be evaluated by the court and doctors to determine whether or not he is a threat to the speaker after he attempted to contact her dozens of times. Pending the results of that appraisal, Republican lawmakers are also considering whether or not to conduct their own interview with the San Francisco native to determine whether or not he would be a good fit for the party, particularly as challenging elections loom. GOP head Michael Steele has reportedly already reached out Giusti but the details of their conversation have not been made public.
“Mr. Giusti has over the course of the last few weeks made numerous attempts to get in contact with Representative Pelosi both in Washington and through her California offices. On one occasion, he did speaker with Mrs. Pelosi though we will not discuss the details of that conversation,” said a spokesperson for the San Francisco police department. “Mr. Giusti will undergo a court ordered mental evaluation to determine whether or not he is fit to stand trial. We take criminal harassment very seriously and we will prosecute to the full extent of the law. We understand some political parties are interested in speaking to Mr. Giusti but they will have to wait until the law is done with him.”
It’s believed that the nature of the calls was threatening in nature, which prompted the charges.
“This is unfortunately something that people have to deal with when they are in the public eye. Pelosi, being the most powerful woman in the history of U.S. politics has a special profile and that is going to increase the interest of loonies and people with genuine axes to grind,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Of course that is exactly what the GOP needs at the moment. They have a lot of faces and a lot of rhetoric but no one to really tie things together. There were many factors that led to the Democrats winning the last election. But one of the most important reasons they won was because they had a consolidated voice and presence that they could leverage against the opponents, which the Republicans simply do not have right now.”
Sarah Palin is currently the most prominent loony in the party.
“Who knows if this guy is the answer or not, only time will tell, but it does show that the part if willing to think outside the box. First they choose a no-name governor of a marginal state and now a guy living in subsidized housing. While it might seem that they are dredging the bottom, they are also going to the common man which could really help them going forward,” continued Kinsey. “Simply put, the party that reaches the people will be the party that has success and right now, Giusti is representative of many people in the United States. If they can get him up on stage without wetting himself or shooting Jodie Foster then they may have something.”
Reportedly the party has a number of lunatics lying in wait should Giusti be convicted and thus be unavailable to run for office.
