SARAH PALIN PRACTICING WITH PEACE PIPE AHEAD OF TRIP TO INDIA

March 7 2011

Wasilla, AK – Every school child knows the basic story of the founding of the Americas, that Christopher Columbus set out to find a new route to India, travelled west across the Atlantic and found and entirely new world. The people he met there christopher columbus
he named Indians and eventually through war and disease they were diminished and Europeans took over the territory. The real history of the new continents was of course much more complex than that reference book explanation but that basic explanation has remained the standard for most people.

Of course the people inhabiting the Americas were not Indians and the land on which they lived was further from India than Spain, literally half a world away, but despite that flawed and totally inaccurate moniker, the name has stuck for a group of ethnically and culturally diverse people. Rooted as it is in our early learnings, even as adults it is difficult to relinquish this idea of the native peoples of the Americas as being anything other than Indians despite concerted efforts to change such thinking and those two peoples still having little connection. In today’s world there is little chance of confusing the two peoples like Columbus did all those years ago, an important shift as India starts to step forward as one of the most prominent nations in the world. That status, and the shift in attitudes towards both groups of Indians, is undoubtedly foremost on the mind of Sarah Palin as she makes her way to India to share a peace pipe with that growing nation.sarah palin pointing

“Mrs. Palin is very excited about this trip. She recognizes the growing power and influence of India on the world stage and of Indian-Americans not just on the political scene, but also economically and socially,” said a spokesperson for the former governor. “Keep in mind that two current governors are of Indian descent and this is a strong connection for her. She very much wants to broker a peace between our two peoples and not gamble on the future like has been done so often before.”

“Mrs. Palin has been priming herself on the history and culture of India, both the music and cinema of the country as well as things like the Raj, the independence

movement, and the rise of legalized gambling and tobacco harvesting, of which the latter two are major parts of the growing economy of that country,” continued the spokesperson. “Mrs. Palin has fallen in love with India before even visiting the country and has even begun weaving her own headdress for the trip. She sees this a great opportunity to engage the larger world and to show all Americans that the world is a huge place, full of diversity and of people of wonderful culture and passions.”

Palin plans to fly over Russia during her trip to India.native american playing flute

“There are a few countries that really matter in the world, and India is chief amongst them. As a growing power unto itself India is poised to become a major player in the near future, economically, militarily, and from a resource standpoint and because of that they need to be engaged very actively,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “More than that though, Indians have become a prominent part of American society and a significant player in the conservative politics of the United States, exactly the group you would want to engage if you were planning on being a major player in that particular political movement.”

Palin will reportedly be bringing along copies of ‘Dances with Wolves’ to present to Indian politicians.
