BACHMANN WILL ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE AS LONG AS IT IS BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN

Washington, D.C. – There was some concern by people in the Gay rights movement that Michele Bachmann had a real chance at making waves in the political scene. While few pundits, gay or otherwise, thought for a second that she had a real chance at 
being President it was enough that she was making waves, that she was very much in the public discourse because, frankly, she doesn’t like gay people all that much.
Or at least that’s the impression she gave.
After all, her husband works to try and convert gay people into being straight and she has, on many occasions, spoken out against gay marriage. Not exactly the type of person one would think of as an advocate for gay rights. Bachmann, though, has changed her tune, or at least clarified it in a new statement likely directed at gay voters who could now very much help her regain some of the attention she once had. Bachmann, it seems, does support gay marriage after all.
“They can get married,” Bachmann explained. “They can marry a man if they’re a woman. Or they can marry a woman if they’re a man,” said Bachmann during a town hall meeting in Iowa. She went on to say she still opposed same-sex marriage.
Bachmann’s husband, Marcus, has been accused of being gay on a number of occasions but is married to a woman.
“This is certainly not what a lot of gay people in the United States would like to hear from a Presidential candidate but it is, frankly, the biggest concession from either side in this debate. Even Barack Obama, a firm Liberal, has not publicly supported gay marriage at all. It’s not ideal but it is something which is not what the gay community has been getting recently,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “I’m not really sure what value this change in tactics has, frankly. I mean there aren’t many gay Republicans to begin with and it is very unlikely that many of them will switch sides, no matter what the Bachmann’s believe, so she may be pandering to no one in particular.”
It’s believed unlikely that Bachmann, either of them, will switch sides either.
“It’s kind of strange that this has become such a potent political issue in this campaign. With everything else that’s going on the debate over gay marriage really doesn’t seem like it should be a priority but it continues to grab the public’s imagination for some reason, it keeps coming up and it’s forcing people like Bachmann into awkward and uncomfortable situations,” continued Kinsey. “She did make a concession though, a big one, and at least gay people know that if she is somehow elected President that they will have some option in terms of marriage. It may not be the one they want, but at least it’s still out there as an option.”
The Bachmann’s have been married for 33 years.
