CHARLES MANSON FINALLY WEIGHS IN ON 2012 ELECTION
April 22 2011
Corcoran, CA – Every election in every country is a disputed and passionate affair. In some countries that passion is expressed in blood, in others it is simply metaphorical blood which is spilled. Regardless of the type of liquid that flows however, the
aggression of politics leaves many people battered and bruised, and even a few totally defeated. Thus is the nature of power, and of the people who seek it with such verve.
There is perhaps no place in the world where that is more evident than in the United States, the bastion of modern democracy. The electoral process in the United States isn’t just and event, it is a celebration of democracy and the country itself. Not simply a process to elect a leader, the elections in the United States are often closer to anointing a King or Queen than it is to simply putting a public servant in office. That process of course begins well before voters go to the booths, one could argue in fact that it begins as soon as the last one ended. Political rhetoric and partisan interests are the standard in American politics, a system that can often pervert the very things politicians claim they are fighting for. However it is what it is, and in the current election cycle many voices have already started to gain prominence. Names like Bachmann, Romney, Obama, and of course Palin are the most famous of voices, though now another famous name has been added to mix as Charles Milles Manson finally steps into the political ring.
“I don't play. I shoot people. I'm too bad. I'm a mean guy. I'm an outlaw. I'm a criminal. I'm everything bad,” Manson said from his prison cell in California. “I think Obama is an idiot for doing what he's doing. He’s a slave of Wall Street. They're playing with him.”
Manson also went on to say that everyone was God and spoke out against global warming.
“There is little doubt that much of the rhetoric in the political system is deeply flawed, even cynical. Most politicians care very little about these issues they speak of except insofar as it gets them elected to office. Ultimately, any politician is a machine, and that machine has one purpose and one purpose alone. Everything it does is in service of that goal, everything,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “That is not altogether a bad thing. After all you want a politician to be dedicated to his or her job. You want them to be passionate about it and not fizzle out when something else comes along. You need them to have razor focus, but unfortunately that can also lead to problems when it comes to actually resolving issues. It is very much a double-edged sword, and always has been.”
As a felony prisoner, Manson is not allowed to vote.
“Whether people like it or not, Manson has been for the last forty years one of the more prominent voices in the American chorus. Simply put, when he speaks people listen and his voice carries a lot of weight with some people. He may not be able to vote himself, but his followers can and that is what’s important,” continued Kinsey. “People may dismiss him as a loon or just another political pundit, but the truth is that when he speaks people listen. That can’t really be said for all politicians, even experienced ones like Ron Paul. I mean Paul may have a better chance at being elected himself, though not much, but his comments don’t get carried in newspapers all around the country. Manson’s do, like it or not.”
Manson has apparently not yet decided who he would vote for if he was able to vote.
