Wasilla, AK – It might be possible, perhaps, that if a person knew they were going to run for public office sometime in the distant future that they could live their life perfectly. That if at say the age of ten they make the decision o run for President, they live their lives accordingly until they get to that position. If that happened it might be possible to eliminate any possibility of skeletons in the closet, but thus far that just hasn’t happened.
Every politician has things in their past they wish would either stay buried or somehow just evaporate. Great leaders have had those issues, and people who tried to be great leaders did as well. Unfortunately, for some those demons are too great, too destructive, and eliminate any chance of being successful in the public realm. We will have to wait and see how things work out for Sarah Palin.
A new book about the former Alaska Governor, and potential Presidential candidate, has made some lurid and shocking claims, shocking even by today’s standards. Those claims, true or not, will likely cast a pall over Palin’s ambitions at the top job and may even erode her voice amongst the loyalist right wing. Already though, Palin and her people are starting spin control, with insiders insisting that the claims in the book are false, that she did not have an ongoing affair with another man and that any white substance she sniffed was just regular old snow.
“These are scandalous and egregious lies, things manufactured to simply garner attention for a book and put it on the best-seller list and we deny everything in it completely,” said a Palin insider. “Any marital issues between Sarah and Todd are not only private, they are resolved. As far as this drug use things goes, that is utter nonsense. Remember Sarah lives in Alaska and it is very easy to mistake snow for cocaine.”
Among the claims, the book says that Palin was seen on at least one occasion snorting cocaine off an oil drum while snowmobiling. It’s not yet clear why she would snort snow.
“The affair thing is totally silly, and her personal life before she was married is totally irrelevant. There isn’t a person in America who would care who she was intimate with, the people respect the personal lives of ordinary people like Sarah,” continued the insider. “Again, the drug thing. All I’m saying is that if she was snorting something off a 55-gallon oil drum it wasn’t cocaine. I mean it would be impossible to even tell the difference in Alaska, really. There is snow over everything and there is no way you could tell the difference. Sarah has eaten snow since she was a child, that is likely what was happening here.”
Other accusations claim that she had a one-night stand with former NBA player Glen Rice before she was married, and had an affair with her husband’s former business partner. However, it is the drug issue which will likely grab the most attention.
“Cocaine, fairly or not, is the demon drug. It is the worst of the worst as far as most people are concerned and if did indeed engage in use on a regular basis it could undo her completely. However, if it was indeed snow, or if she simply didn’t inhale entirely, well than that would be a different issue,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Even with conservatives the argument of snorting snow could be made quite effectively. I mean most of them won’t have snorted ice crystals off a 55-gallon oil drum, but they can still sympathize with the notion. I mean you have snow, and an oil drum, and a small glass tube. Why not? I’m sure most supporters will see it that way, hopefully for her at least.”
Palin was recently seem in Miami, where Glen Rice currently resides.
