JIMMY CARTER SCOUTING OUT SUMMER HOME IN CUBAN COUNTRYSIDE
March 28 2011
Havana, Cuba – At this stage it would be difficult for anyone to imagine a scenario where the decades long conflict with Cuba could ever end in victory. Initially the efforts to embargo and even blockade the country after the Cuban revolution were designed
to undo the nascent government, and had they succeeded it’s perfectly reasonable that the United States could have claimed some kind of victory over the tiny nation. Now though, more than fifty years after that revolt ended, little has changed in Cuban politics and all those people who wanted victory are long dead, and the Castro name still rings throughout Havana.
Though the principle figurehead of the country, Fidel Castro, has been comfortably retired for a number of years, the continued success of the nation, which has outlasted ten U.S. Presidents, makes any notion of success on the island vacuous at best. It has undoubtedly become clear that while the embargoes and restrictions on Cuba have not only not undone the leadership, but even in the face of such challenges it has become to most successful of Caribbean nations. Victory, if it could ever have been achieved, is long gone. Still, the tension revolving around the country remains very potent for many Americans who have grown up knowing of the Devil to the south, and now many of those people are calling for one former President, jimmy Carter, to be punished for his most recent trip to the nation with some even saying that he should stay there permanently.
“It’s pretty clear that Jimmy Carter is using his special privilege as a former President in order to visit Cuba. He is calling it a private visit but he took off from American airspace, something that no ordinary American can do,” said David Column of ARPD. “I say if he likes Cuba that much than he should just stay. It’s pretty clear that he has always associated more with Cubans than he has with Americans which is why we voted him out. We believe firmly that he should just stay in Cuba.”
Carter did apparently depart from Cuba from Georgia. Most Americans are forced to travel to Canada in order to board a plane to Cuba.
“By travelling to Cuba he is validating Communism and Castro. It really doesn’t matter what he does there, he is a former American President and by going there he is making decades of communist rule okay. There is a reason most Presidents don’t travel to Cuba, it’s this,” continued Column. “It’s these types of things that will prevent us from ever having real success in that country. How are we ever supposed to defeat the Castro regime if a former President won’t even support the effort? We must free the people of Cuba and this type of activity does not help. I say leave him there if he wants to go, we don’t need him.”
Carter will meet with Raul Castro at the latter’s invitation. It’s not expected that the former President will ask for Castro’s resignation or an abandonment of Communism.
“There will be success in Cuba, there is little doubt of that. Eventually the Castro’s will

be out of power and that will be a kind of victory. I mean that has always been the end
game, to push Castro out of power and that day is coming, just a little slower than some people had expected,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “There are likely a number of reasons that Castro is going to Cuba this time but I don’t think it would do any good for the American cause, or the impression of the country around the world, if Carter were denied entrance back to the U.S. after the visit. I mean he may lose his cigars but actually prosecuting him is something else and would probably cause more problems than it would solve.”
Carter recently abandoned plans for a whirlwind tour of Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, and Libya in light of the troubles in the latter country.
