JOEY LAWRENCE THROWS SUPPORT BEHIND DONALD TRUMP FOR 2012

May 3 2011

Washington, D.C. –  If there’s one thing that people will never, never ever agree on, its politics. Just about everyone with a pulse has an opinion on politics, whether informed or not, that creates a great deal of passion and largely angry debates. For joey lawrence old
as long as societies have gathered, for as long as cities and governments have existed, politics has been a potent and often vicious debate, one that often divides families and friends in deep and sometimes lasting ways.

For that reason many people like to keep their political opinions to themselves, keeping quiet when it comes to major social issues, especially when the hold views contrary to the accepted norm. In Hollywood that norm most often revolves around a liberal, left-wing objective. While there are certainly a number of famous conservatives in Tinsel Town, the vast majority of players in the town are either silent, or liberal. Not so Joey Lawrence who has come out guns blazing against President Obama and his policies, deriding the liberal leader and actively supporting whatever Republican candidate challenges him in 2012. As he has done for most of his career, the comments put Lawrence at odds with much of his Hollywood brethren, but it appears that the actor has no desire to back down or betray his conscience.

“Obama was something fresh, and new, and people wanted to put their faith in his message of being different and 'change' and all this stuff two years ago, but that fell flat because he gets in there and it's pretty much the same old thing. I think everybody can agree on that, there's no real change,” Lawrence told Fox News. “I'd be donald trump pointing
open to Donald. He's somebody out of the box and I think that some of the stuff he's saying makes sense. It sounds like you and I would say it, and it's time," Lawrence said. "I'm tired of 'so politically correct' every step of the way. It's like there are times when we need to say, 'We're getting our rear ends kicked, we are the world leader, we need to step up and act like it.”

Lawrence also derided the President for potentially spending billions of dollars on his election campaign while ordinary people are suffering.

“I know this won’t make me the most popular guy in Hollywood, but I have to say what I believe. The truth is that Republican candidates have a real feel for America and are in touch with the people, and that is something that Obama has never been,” continued Lawrence. “I’m a true patriot and I believe that we need to vote for what is best for the country, not what is best for our own personal political agenda. Personally I’m behind any Republican candidate, though I would very much like to see Donny Trump take the mantle. He’s what America needs.”

Lawrence’s ‘Blossom’ co-star Mayim Bialik has also supported Republican causes in the past.joey lawrence young

“It’s very unpopular in Hollywood to support conservative causes. Occasionally people do it, but they are usually already unpopular or just out and out boring, people like Jon Voight and Chuck Norris. This is different though. Many people grew up with Lawrence and will be influenced by his statements, which could very well turn a tight election,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Celebrities can turn the tide, they certainly helped with Obama, and this is no different. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Joey Lawrence on the campaign trail if Trump decides to run. That could really upset the balance in profound ways. Though I think it means we won’t be seeing a ‘Blossom’ reunion anytime soon, I hear Six is a big Obama fan.”

There were no plans for a reunion of any kind.
