JON HUNTSMAN USING HIS COMPLETE AND TOTAL ANONYMITY TO HIS ADVANTAGE IN PRIMARY RACE

Washington, D.C. – There has been a lot of talk about the Republican field currently in the running for the Primary election, for the majority of the candidates. High flying early successes like Michele Bachman and Herman Cain drew a lot of water for a long time, and now it has turned to people like Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, with of course the old stalwart Mitt Romney at the centre.
Some of that attention is no doubt genuine, some of it just part of the nature of the race, but much of it has to do with the reality that there is no clear front runner for the nomination. Everyone seems to be getting a chance at the spotlight, most failing to hold onto it, simply because someone has to get a chance at it.
Of course not everyone has been as prominent, most notably Jon Huntsman who has been a part of the field almost from the start, but who has never really gotten much attention. So much so that on Wednesday he went completely unmolested only blocks from the White House, a place he is hoping to occupy shortly. While that type of anonymity may seem like a death knell for any political campaign, it is exactly what Huntsman has been trying to achieve, and is accomplishing with more aplomb than he could ever have imagined.
“Jon likes playing the outsider, he likes not being the centre of attention. No one pays
attention to him at parties, at shopping malls, or even in his own house and that’s exactly the way he likes it. Loves it, in fact, that is really Jon Huntsman in short,” said campaign insider. “When he first laid out his plans for the run he made it clear that he wanted absolutely no one to pay attention to him. He wanted to run basically in secret. We forced him to make some compromises, like attending debates, but for the most part it has worked out brilliantly.”
Huntsman is currently polling at about 1 percent, a little higher than he had wanted in the early days of the campaign.
That number is about two percent lower than ‘other’, who is not seen as a likely winner in the primary season.
“O-1 percent are about where we projected we would be at this stage, a little high, 
but not disastrously so. The campaign is really going according to plan in so many ways. We made it clear that we don’t want any questions at debates, which has happened in almost every one, and that in turn has allowed him to go on about the campaign in total privacy, unmolested by voters and fans which are really just an obstacle to his ultimate goal, which of course is the White House,” continued the insider. “It may seem like an unusual strategy by Jon is an unusual guy so it works. He didn’t want to be a phoney, he wanted to be genuine and felt that doing that would lead him to political success, and so far it is working exactly to plan. Next stop, 1600 Pennsylvania.”
Huntsman has not been missed by his family while on the campaign trail. In fact, they haven’t noticed he was gone for the most part.
