MICHELE BACHMANN BLAMES OBAMA FOR DEATH OF JOBS
October 6 2011
Washington, D.C. – While the death of Steve Jobs was not exactly a surprise, the world has responded with a mixture of shock and misery. In many cases that shock comes from fans of the Apple magnate who, presumably, believed that their great leader was somehow going to recover, or that he was somehow invulnerable to death, which of course has proven to not be the case.
Celebrity statements on Jobs’ death have been much more resigned, much more reflective and respectful. Part of that is no doubt due to publicist interaction, but most of it has to do with their deep, abiding respect for the man and the life he lived. People from all walks of life – entertainment, industry, business, and politics – have paid tribute to Jobs, a rare thing for anyone never mind an industrialist.
Some, though, have used the death as an opportunity, either to gain a platform or just to make cheap jokes at the expense of a dead man. Michele Bachman, it appears, may be doing none of those things even after she criticized President Obama for the death of Jobs, thinking that all the reports were about something other than the Apple guru.
“Once again President Obama has let down the American people. This is why the country needs change, this is why we must do away with the old and bring in the new. The President has killed jobs since day one and he will continue to do that. It is time

we said no, no to jobs deaths, no more Mr. President. No more,” said Bachmann in a message not approved by her staff. Said staff later corrected the statement, saying that Bachmann was referring to the President’s recent jobs bill, not Steve Jobs.
The two things are believed to be totally unrelated.
“In this season, in this political race, politicians are going to need to use any type of leverage they can gain to try and get a foothold. This, though, was probably a bad idea. Exploiting the death of anyone for political gain is usually not a good idea but especially when it is someone who is as loved as Jobs and this is going to be a hard lesson for Bachmann,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “It may not affect her in the long run simply because very few people will be paying attention, drowning themselves as they are in iPods and the like. Still, if this catches on it could be very destructive for Bachmann and her campaign and could kill her 5 percent approval rating.”
Bachmann had been one of the more prominent Republican candidates until recently when her approval plummeted.
“Yes, the jobs issue is going to be a major issue in this campaign but you can’t relate this death to anything else. Steve Jobs was a tech genius and great businessman. He probably did more for job creation than any President and he will be missed, for that reason and many others. Using this as an opportunity to jab your maybe future opponents is not a good idea,” continued Kinsey. “This is a time for mourning and a time for lame and cheap jokes, not a time for politicking. It’s possible that Bachmann just didn’t know the difference, but it’s also possible she did and just wanted to use the platform to stick it to the President. Bad timing.”
Bachmann, of course, has also been the subject of a number of jokes, good and bad, in her time.
