MITT ROMNEY PROMISES TO GET A NEW JOB IF PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN FAILS
June 17 2011
Tampa, FL – Democracy was designed to be a representative government, a government of the people and for the people. It was a reaction to the kind of disassociation that most systems had embedded in them which separated the leadership from the populace and attempted to put them on equal footing. That has

not turned out to be the case. Campaigning for the leadership of a country requires a great deal of money and has so many restrictions placed upon it that most people never have a chance and so never try. Because of those requirements, the people who eventually take office often have little or nothing to do with the populace that voted them into office, making the electoral process democracy in name only.
There is no place where that is more evident than it is in the greatest democracy in the world, the United States. While it is true that many leaders in recent history did come from humble beginnings, by the time they were able to run for President all were millionaires, something the vast majority of the voting public is not. The emerging field for 2012 is no different, laden with the wealthy and elite that have little to do with the people they seek to represent. However one candidate, Republican front runner Mitt Romney, has started to show signs that should he not become President after four years of trying, he may try and get a normal job to supplement his $200 million net worth.
“He really saw how disjointed things were when he made that little joke about being unemployed. He realized that it was a political gaffe, but more importantly he started to see how it was a real social problem. He realized that regular folks don’t like to joke about being unemployed,” said a Romney insider. “That was a real revelation for the Governor and it has really changed his attitudes towards the whole thing. He has started to say that if things don’t work out this time, he will probably go back to work. I mean he really has been unemployed for a long time and his bank account is starting to hurt so it makes perfect sense.”
Romney has reported that his net worth could be upwards of $250 million, though admitted it’s hard to keep track.
“He isn’t exactly sure what kind of job he would like to have, particularly because he won’t have it for very long. He’s almost 65 remember and so his pension and other benefits will start to kick in. He is just looking for something to carry him over the hump in case the whole President thing doesn’t work out,” continued the insider. “Maybe something like Home Depot or even fast food. Something easy, something he doesn’t need to really stress over, but something which will provide him with a little extra spending money and of course put him in touch with the people. He’s still mulling that over, but of course he still wants the big job.”
Romney has no experience in retail or public service but instead made his millions as the head of a capital investment company.
“We will have to see how this whole election thing turns out, but it would be interesting to see if he really does go ahead with these plans to get a job. He could coast for awhile, but workers work I guess,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Hopefully his example will be one for all other politicians. Only one person in this field is going to be President and that is going to leave a lot of unemployed people. Hopefully they see their loss as an opportunity to try something new. You never know, sometimes these things surprise you.”
Romney has apparently put out feelers to his favourite Starbucks just outside San Diego.
