OBAMA GAINS SUPPORT FROM GOD FOR JOBS BILL
November 3 2011
Washington, D.C. – No one expected the jobs bill introduced by President Obama to gain immediate adoption. That is not the way things are done in Washington, even when everyone agrees on the way to do things. Politics, put simply, will just not allow for things to get done in Washington. Politics always rules decision making, pre-empting even total agreement.
Of all the plans Obama has introduced, the jobs bill has certainly been the least controversial. Perhaps the most bi-partisan effort he has made, and on a subject of deep importance to just about everyone in the country, the bill seemed like an easy pass. That didn’t happen, of course, this being Washington, but almost.
Now though Obama appears to have gained fresh support for the bill, gaining support from a powerful ally that even the harshest of Republican Hawks might be hesitant to go against, the Lord Almighty. While he was scant on details, Obama made it clear that he believed the bill had the full support of God and presumably all his minions which, if true, may make any argument against the proposal a tough fight for anyone to wage.
“There's no good reason to oppose this bill, not one. And members of Congress who do, who vote no, are going to have to explain why to their constituencies,” said the President. “That's not putting people back to work. I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people back to work. The American people are with me with this.”
Republican critics made no effort to challenge the word of the Lord, though it does not appear that that support has pushed the bill any closer to passing.
The bill is believed to be stalled in the Senate and it’s not clear if God has any place, or power, to push it through that body.
“It would be very hard for the President to show clearly that he has garnered the support of God but if he were able to do so, I think it would be next to impossible for the Senate to not push the bill through. It would be very tough for anyone, no matter how politically hawkish they might be, to oppose the Lord and Saviour if He wanted something done,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “No one, at least no one in their right mind, would want to oppose the Supreme Being if He came to Earth and said He wanted something done, at least not without risking their eternal soul that is.”
It’s not clear if opposing God’s political views would result in being cast down into Hell or some level of purgatory but it’s believed likely that few people would really want to risk it.
“The jobs bill, in one form or another, does need to go through. It will put people back to work and that is far more important the politics. It could very well be that Obama is invoking the Lord’s name without actually gaining support from Him, which could imperil his eternal soul, but may help get the bill passed, which is the most important thing,” continued Kinsey. “I think even God would forgive a little fib if it helped a lot of people. Hopefully anyways, otherwise a lot of people are going to be in a lot of trouble.”
No representatives for religious organizations had any comment on the Lord’s support or the bill itself.
