TIM PAWLENTY COURTING LADY GAGA AS VICE PRESIDENTIAL RUNNING MATE

Ames, Iowa – It’s always a hard thing to realize that you’re getting old. It starts simply enough, you can’t stay up as late as you used to be able or certain foods give you heartburn, but it all goes downhill from there. You gain hair where you don’t want
it and lose it where you do, your legs ache every morning and you take time off work because of a bad back. That isn’t even the worst of it though, the worst is when you realize that you are out of touch, that you think music and movies are just too loud.
That inevitably affects everyone. You make your first comment that makes you feel old, and all of a sudden you are. For most people that’s just the way things go but when you are in the public eye, trying to appeal to the very youth you don’t understand, it can make life very challenging. That is something politicians often find out the hard way as they try to court young voters. That challenge is something at least one Republican front runner has tried to tackle head on by invoking the name of Lady Gaga, someone he hopes could eventually be his Vice-President or at least a major part of his cabinet.
“Well you know, in terms of the beat, I like ‘Bad Romance. I gotta say, even though she’s a little unusual, ‘Born this Way’ has some appeal. She’s actually very talented,” said former Minnesota Governor Time Pawlenty on a stump in Iowa. “Now if you go to
the end of the HBO special, the Lady Gaga HBO special, and you watch her sing a cappella “Born This Way,” she can sing. She can definitely sing. She’s talented. You can’t limit your artistic tastes to only conservatives otherwise you wouldn’t have a lot of choices. You gotta be willing to tolerate different politics.”
Gaga had no comment on the endorsement though her representatives have stated in the past that she has no interest in politics at this time.
“The battle that everyone is waiting for is the Presidential race itself, which is going to be a big deal, but it is in the race for the Republican nomination where the majority of the excitement will be. Right now they are going after Obama, but as they get closer to the primaries they will start attacking each other and that’s when things get really exciting,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Having a major star in you corner would certainly give that candidate a major advantage. Traditionally stars lean Democratic and so the major players, the one who actually get a lot of attention, don’t help with the Republican cause. If Pawlenty can get someone like Lady Gaga on his side, even a promise of future participation, that could very well win him the nomination.”
Gaga has not officially stated her political affiliations but it’s believed she leans liberal.
“She may not help in the general election. Gaga has been on a bit of a downslide of late with her last album really plummeting after some good first week sales. That shows that across the spectrum she is limited, but in a limited environment she could very well help change the dynamic,” continued Kinsey. “There will be a problem with the whole gay rights thing which is a big part of Gaga’s persona and which tends to not do so well in Republican quarters, but celebrity can outweigh politics and Pawlenty is probably betting on that.”
Mitt Romney has reportedly been courting the vaguely conservative ‘Insane Clown Posse’ for a position in his cabinet.
