AS PRESIDENT, RICK SANTORUM WILL ENSURE ALL DEAD BABIES HAVE A HOME

January 3 2011

Des Moines, IA – Regardless of the outcome of tonight’s primary in Iowa, it’s clear that Rick Santorum has become a major player. In the single digits just a few weeks ago, Santorum has surged into the top three in the days leading up to the first election of the season, with some speculating that he might even be able to take the vote. A remarkable turn, to be sure.rick santorum family

Of course many candidates have surged and fallen in the early days of the primary season and the same may well be true for Santorum. However, in him the base may have found a candidate they can back without reservation, someone with whom they identify, even if he isn’t someone who will have a serious chance at winning the general election.

Regardless, Santorum will have some level of election victory. Even if he doesn’t win a single Primary vote, he will have done a great deal to raise his profile and the profile of the deep end of the Conservative movement. Already though, Santorum has started to count his chickens, finding courage and even hubris in his surge, already planning for a run at the top job and making plans for what he will do while in charge, including a promise that all dead babies will have a home in his America.rick santorum wife

“It was so important ... for the family to recognize the life of that child and for the children to know they had a brother. To some who don't recognize the dignity of all human life, who see it as a blob of tissue ... this is somehow weird, recognizing the humanity of your son. Somehow weird, somehow odd and should be subject to ridicule,” said Santorum when questioned over his and his wife’s decision to bring home their prematurely born son after he had died in 1996.

The child was born with Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder that only allowed him to live for two hours out of the womb, being born four months early. The trouble pregnancy also nearly killed Karen Santorum, though she returned home fully alive.

It’s not clear what happened to the child in the hours after it was brought home and its corpse displayed to the young children in the household, but it was probably weird.

“We believe firmly that all life, even life that has passed, needs to be recognized. In a Liberal America that baby would not have been born at all. He would not have had the chance to breathe any air, even if it was on respirators. They would not have had the chance to test their faith and love by nearly losing the mother, and that would have been a loss,” said a Santorum spokesperson. “In addition, the children would never had had the chance to meet their brother. They only had him for a short time, but in that time they got to love him.”

Karen Santorum slept with the remains that night before returning them to the hospital, something she does with all deceased family members.rick santorum speech

“In a Santorum Presidency things like this would not be considered odd or strange. Not only will women be able to bring their children to bear regardless of the health issues, they will also be able to sleep with the corpses of their dead children, should God decide to take the child from them,” continued the spokesperson. “No longer will women be forced into abortions, forced to lose their children, and be forced to give them up to an unloving and uncaring incinerator. That is not the Santorum America, that is not America at all in fact and we will ensure that is not the America the children of this nation have.”

There is nothing in the constitution that guarantees the right to sleep with deceased children. Nothing, actually, that even insinuates it.
