BILL CLINTON NOT EYEING ANOTHER RUN FOR PRESIDENT, YET

January 25 2012

Washington, D.C. – For many young people Barack Obama was a symbol of change, not only for his promises and not only for his physical appearance, but because it was the rejection of and older generation, a generation of their parents. Barack Obama was the future, he was change from what had been passed down to them.bill clinton smooth

Twenty years ago, Bill Clinton was exactly the same thing. He was a young President and a rejection of the older, staid world that young people had inherited from their parents. Clinton was the future, he was hope and change before Obama put that into words, and like Obama, he had a troubled Presidency.

Clinton eventually redeemed himself from those difficult days, which were particularly rough in the later years, and has made himself into a much greater and, arguably, much more influential statesman than he ever was as President, a future which may well be in store for Obama. Now though, Clinton may well be looking for change, a change to the past in fact, with rumours starting to swirl that he may in fact seek another run at President despite the Constitution expressly forbidding a third candidacy, though officially he has said nothing.

“Bill wants to be President again. He never wanted to leave, really. He’s glad he did because life has been pretty good since then, but at the time it was something he wanted to continue with. Now he’s getting a sense of the party and the way things stand and he kind of wants to get back in, give the Democrats a kick in the pants and Republicans a kick in the teeth,” said a Clinton insider. “He knows it would be completely illegal but that’s something he could change. He is Bill Clinton after all, all he needs to do is smooth talk that silly old document.”

The Twenty-second amendment to the Constitution forbids more than two full terms. That clause was enacted after the American people legally voted Franklin Roosevelt into office four straight times.bill clinton president

Like Roosevelt, Clinton spent much of his time in office stuck behind a desk, refusing to stand.

“I doubt he’ll run. He realizes that with the weak field the Republicans have there really isn’t a great chance that they will win come November and him getting into the field will only disrupt Obama’s chances. Things may change if Gingrich gets the nomination, but for right now he is staying out,” continued the insider. “He’d really like a little strike against Gingrich, no doubt about that. Changing the law would be an easy thing to do but people really do love Bill now, much more than they did when he was President, and that should make the process a little easier if he decides to go that route.”bill clinton cool

Bill’s wife Hillary has been at the centre of rumours for a possible VP candidacy for this election, which could eventually pave the way to her own Presidency in 2016.

“Changing the law to accommodate a single person would be tricky to be sure but we are talking about Bill Clinton. People just love him right now, way more than they did when he was President and so it might be something people are a little more tolerant of, especially Democrats of course,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “Getting it past the Republicans might be a little more of challenge, especially since they don’t have anyone they might potentially want to run again themselves. Well, Reagan but that wouldn’t work. I would bet this ends up just being talk, not action.”

Clinton has reportedly held onto the extra-large desk he had built for his Presidency. Tons of leg room apparently.
