DOUG FROM MILWAUKEE EMERGES AS SURPRISE FRONT RUNNER FOR REPUBLICAN NOMINATION
January 27 2012
Milwaukee, WI – Eventually, whether they like it or not, Republicans will have to choose somebody to run for President. With three contests down and three different winners who that nominee will be is far from decided but it will have to happen eventually, whether selected from this group of players or perhaps a wild card from outside the group.
Someone will eventually run against Barack Obama, strong or weak, someone will be on the Republican side, though the way things are going right now, it may end up just being a formality considering the divisions in the Party.
Perhaps the most important contest in the race will come next Tuesday when voters in Florida take to the polls. Florida has long been one of the most important states in American politics, both in primaries and in the General Election, and it could very well be that whomever wins on Tuesday will eventually be the nominee, that is of course unless Doug from Milwaukee decides to stay out of the race after he became a surprising name being floated by the Republican hierarchy.
“I wasn’t really looking for this and now I don’t really know what to do with it. I’ve been getting all these calls from people, I can’t even remember their names mostly, and they want me to run for President. It’s real weird man,” said Doug from his Milwaukee apartment. “I’m not even really into politics. I voted once back in high school for the student council but that was enough for me. I’ve never voted for President so I don’t really have a party or anything, which makes this whole thing a little strange.”
Doug is 39 and apparently came to the attention of Republican officials after he walked past a campaign office in downtown Milwaukee.
Doug is currently looking for work, though President of the United States is not something he has previously applied for.
“It’s hard out here getting a job. I’ve been out of work for months, man, and it’s getting hard to pay rent and keep eating. It’s tough and I may lose my apartment so if running for President can help that, I’m totally down. It’s probably a tough job but I’m a hard worker mostly,” continued Doug. “I’m willing to listen to them. I’d like to talk to the Republican people and see what the deal is. If it’s good I’m sure we can work something out. I’m willing to talk.”
Doug left his last job after a dispute with the store manager, who just happened to be from Iran. Doug’s best friend also happens to be Chinese, well half-white and half Chinese.
“This race has really started to come apart at the seams. There is something to be said for having a real battle, like the Democrats had last time, but in that case they had two strong candidates and were pretty much assured of winning the election no matter who got the nomination. That just isn’t the case here and it could actually end up hurting the cause, being so split on things,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “I doubt that Doug will be the person to unify the Party and allow them to make a real go of things, but I have been wrong in the past. It could very well be the antidote for the elitist persona that the Party which really engage the swing voters, or at least it could.”
Doug religious beliefs swing to the Packers, which is considered official religion in Wisconsin.
