JOE BIDEN WOULD RATHER OSAMA WAS ALIVE RIGHT NOW
January 31 2012
Washington, D.C. – The process that goes into picking a Vice-President is assumed to a be a long and laborious one, one that takes a great deal of factors into account, most importantly of which is the ability for that person to take the big job if that becomes necessary. Sometimes that selection process is done well, and other times the President, or potential President, chooses someone who will not outshine them even if they are incapable of doing the job.
No one is really sure what went on in the selection process that gave Joe Biden the second most powerful position in the world, and even fewer are certain that it was the right choice, something Biden makes an effort to remind people of on a regular basis.
Everyone knew full well that Biden would make verbal gaffes, that he would say things he should probably have kept to himself. That is Joe Biden, that is one of his most defining characteristics. Biden is, though, a patriot through and through and an experienced politician and so making him VP was not a terrible idea in theory, but it is something the administration may be reconsidering now that he has started to question the President on his biggest accomplishment, killing Osama bin Laden, wishing that it hadn’t been done, and perhaps even that bin Laden was still alive.
“Every single person in that room hedged their bet except Leon Panetta. Leon said go. Everyone else said, 49, 51. He got to me. He said, ‘Joe, what do you think?’ And I said, ‘You know, I didn’t know we had so many economists around the table.’ I said, ‘We owe the man a direct answer. Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go. We have to do two more things to see if he’s there,” Biden said at a Democratic retreat over the weekend.
Obviously the President didn’t take his advice and ordered the SEALs to go ahead and take bin Laden, dead or alive.
It’s not exactly clear why Biden wanted the most ruthless terrorist leader to evade capture, though it’s fairly clear that if he had been President Osama bin Laden would be alive and well today, drinking Pepsi and perusing pornography, perhaps right now in fact.
“There is a reason Biden fell out early from the Presidential race. The fact is he is kind of a boob and he was really kind of a surprising choice for Vice President. He offered experience which certainly helped with voters, but of course John McCain did a lot to help Obama anyways with his VP choice,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “I would bet that if McCain had chosen first Obama might have gone with someone else but he kind of got stuck with Biden. Maybe not the worst choice, but not a great one.”
Officially, the worst Vice-President in history is Aaron Burr who killed the Secretary of the Treasury in a Duel. Spiro Agnew is considered a close second.
“It is ultimately a good thing that bin Laden is dead and it was a bold move by Obama to get that done. Who knows why Biden would want bin Laden alive but no one really knows what goes on in that guy’s head. Heck, he probably doesn’t know. I’m just glad he didn’t make that decision,” continued Kinsey. “That said, it is kind of unsettling to have a person with so much potential power who so obviously supports terrorism. That is odd and something they should really look into resolving in some way. Oh Biden, my Biden.”
Biden has never officially said that he hates terrorists, and even if he did most people would probably just blow it off.
