NEWS >POLITICS > SARAH PALIN FALLS FOR PRANK CALL TO ABSOLUTELY NO ONE’S SURPRISE
Montreal, Quebec – Only days before the election, Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin has fallen victim to a prank call from two of Montreal’s best known D.J.’s. The recording of the call, purportedly from French President Nicholas Sarkozy, was made public Saturday on YouTube.
Amongst other highlights of the call the prankster, posing as Sarkozy, invited Palin to go hunting, mentioned that he could see Belgium from his house, an complimented her on the ‘Documentary’ of her life, Nailin Paylin, which is actually an adult film, all of which Palin took at face value.
The duo, Marc-Antoine Audette and Sebastien Trudel, are well known for celebrity prank calls.
“The most amazing thing is that she took at face value that the president of a major nation would be calling her at all. From what I know of politics that would be very unlikely even in the event that that she is elected Vice President, never mind a nominee,” said Scrape TV political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “The most unsettling part is that they hinted again and again that it was a gag and she didn’t pick up on it. That either means she’s too dense to get the hint or that she didn’t understand what he was saying and just agreed with him. It makes you wonder if she realizes that one of her duties as Vice President would be dealing with people from other countries, most of whom have accents. You can’t just nod and be polite when you are dealing with sensitive political issues.”
A spokesperson for Palin confirmed that she did indeed accept the prank call but would not comment further.
“It of course brings up Hillary Clinton’s primary commercial about the three AM phone call. It’s not so much whether anyone will physically there to take the call, but whether or not they will be mentally present,” continued Kinsey. “It’s scary to think how gullible she would be after being wakened at 3 in the morning if it’s this bad during normal day hours. American officials have been oblivious for years, that’s the last thing they need for another four.”
Palin also asked numerous times for the call letters of the radio station, which the host aping Sarkozy gladly gave. The presumption is that the Governor will attempt to either halt the airing of the recording, or seek some kind of retribution against the hosts.
“I think it’s unlikely she will have any ability to affect the airing of the recording in anyway. We are dealing with two different countries and it’s not as if this type of thing is unexpected from these two,” said Scrape TV Media analyst Sarah Piper. “There was the situation earlier in the week with Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand pranking Andrew Sachs, but that call was particularly vulgar and Sachs was a part of Fawlty Towers, which makes him a highly respected person. Neither can be said of the Palin call. No matter what she might think, Palin doesn’t really have any power or influence. She’s probably just going to have to live with it.”
In light of the constant accusations of Socialism, the Obama campaign is already formulating plans on how to exploit the fact that Palin took a call from the President of one of the most socialist countries in the world, which of course was a prank call from another socialist country.
“She would probably have some explaining to do,” continued Piper. “If anyone really cared what she was saying.”
