KIRK CAMERON NEARLY CONVINCES ONE GUY THAT EVOLUTION IS A MYTH

Bellflower, CA – In his time, Kirk Cameron was about as big a star as one could be. Starring in a hit TV show and with his picture gracing the covers of hundreds of magazines Cameron was loved by millions of girls and idolized by millions of boys in
his portrayal of the rebellious but lovable Mike Seaver on ‘Growing Pains’. Cameron’s real life was of course much different than the one he portrayed on television. A devout Christian for many years, Kirk Cameron couldn’t have been more different from the role that made him famous.
In recent years Cameron has largely moved away from acting and dedicated his life to God through his personal efforts in ‘The Firefly Foundation’ and alongside Minister Ray Comfort in the ‘Way of the Master’ ministry. That effort has resulted in plenty of ongoing attention for Cameron who has become a new kind of star on YouTube and through the ‘Way of the Master’ website. Now Cameron has launched a new campaign to further his word, handing out thousands of copies of Charles Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of Species’ with a new forward by Comfort which refutes all topics presented in the text. Thus far those efforts have met with either ridicule or indifference but according to Cameron himself at least one person was well on his way to believing that evolution is in fact a myth.
“Atheism has been on the rise for years now, and the Bible of the atheists is ‘The Origin of Species’. We have a situation in our country where young people are entering college with a belief in God and exiting with that faith being stripped and shredded. What we want to do is have student make an informed, educated decision before they chuck their faith,” said Cameron. “We have real evidence that our efforts are making up ground and there have been a number of people who are genuinely interested in what we have to say. There was one guy, I believe his name was Dave, who was really interested in what we are saying and I think is this close to throwing away the teachings of Atheism and coming over to the Lord.”
Dave is apparently a student at the University of California, Berkley, who aside from being a casual Christian is a huge fan of ‘Growing Pains’ which he has watched in syndication.
“Evolution is perhaps the best documented and most verifiable field of study in the natural world, so much so that even the Catholic Church doesn’t refute the process. There are many misconceptions about what evolution is, and there’s little doubt that studies of the beginning of life and the universe are often related, but they are not the same thing,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “The really important part of this story isn’t whether or not they are able to convince people, it’s whether or not the old Mike Seaver charm will still work in the 21st century. In many ways he was a product of the 80’s and things have changed significantly since then so it will be interesting to see if he’s still got it, especially with the younger crowd.”
Seaver was generally involved with schemes such as throwing parties behind his parent’s backs and running money making schemes at his high school.
“Initially one would think that such rapscallion behaviour would have little play in the modern world but obviously, if he is in fact accurate in predicting this ‘Dave’ turning away from science and accepting the Holy, some of that is still there,” continued Poe. “If Cameron is successful then that will give hope to other eighties stars who might want to practice their charms in the modern age. I can see Tony Danza bringing his gruff but lovable charm to bear, or Ted Danson his womanizing but lovable charm into the modern age. It could well be a resurgence for the decade.”
Even with the Seaver charm in full effect many believe it unlikely that Cameron will be able to overturn science and the reality of the natural world.
