RESEARCH FINDS DOGS ORIGINATED IN MIDDLE EAST, U.S. BAN BEING WEIGHED
March 17 2010
Washington, D.C. – It is natural to assume that the things are the way they because they are. Though we technically know some of the history of the world, oftentimes it is difficult to see the connections to our current lives. Even in our own day-to-day life

we often think back to our youth and think of ourselves exactly as we are now, just younger. Nothing could be further from the truth however. Events lead into other events and eventually accumulate into a life, either of an individual or of a people, though sometimes it’s difficult to see the threads that tie them together.
Now researchers in France believe they have tied some of those mysterious threads of the past to a modern day mystery relating to man’s best friend. Because of the incredible level of diversity that exists in the animals many researchers had been puzzled as to where the animals may have first originated, and now it seems they came from the Middle East. The researchers have traced the genetic roots of all dogs, from St Bernards to Daschunds, to a wolf species that once roamed what is now Saudi Arabia and Syria. While the discovery is exciting archaeologists there is a more vocal group that is disputing the evidence and calling for a ban on all dogs should the discovery prove to be accurate.
“I have three dogs. I love dogs. My dogs, simply put, did not come from the Middle East. They came from a kennel a few blocks over. I know they are related to wolves, but there are wolves in the United States and in Europe and have a hard time believing that my dogs came from anywhere but these United States,” said Derek Hamm of Baltimore. “This is just the kind of thing the Liberals try to do. They want peace in the Middle East so they give them our dogs, but they can’t have them. My dogs are American dogs and they always will be.”
The research indicates that wolves throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia were also descended from the same group of animals that originated in the Fertile Crescent, most likely expanding outwards alongside human beings as we too traveled from that area outwards.
“It’s certainly an interesting discovery but the science is a little difficult to understand. I mean they put it all out there and tell you what everything is supposed to mean but realistically I don’t know if that’s what it really means. Assuming they are correct however, this could pose a major risk to the rest of the world and the government needs to do something about it,” said David Campbell of the American Humane Society. “I don’t mean and out and out ban on dogs, but if there is even the smallest risk of danger than this threat has to be dealt with. There are millions of dogs across the country, including one in the White House, and if they were somehow still in contact with their Middle Easter counterparts, they could pose a serious threat to the country.”
Best speculation would be that dogs would communicate with other animals across the world with barks, unintelligible to human ears, which could easily spread from animal to animal.
“There are a few issues with this theory that dog could be sleeper agents for some
Middle Eastern conspiracy, quite few actually. One would be that the original wolves simply aren’t around anymore, the second would be that we didn’t have these current conflicts back when dogs first started to evolve,” said Scrape TV Zoology analyst Cambridge Walker. “I sincerely doubt that dogs would have had the foresight to evolve, to penetrate human society so fully in order to carry out some massive plot by religious extremists thousands of years in the future. If anything, I would say they have a plan of their own that has little or nothing to do with the conflicts in that region, and that is what we need to watch out for.”
Cats, it is believed, originated Eastern Africa, which is predominately Muslim.
