POTENTIAL SUPERVILLAINS THWARTED AS U.N. PUTS BAN ON BLOCKING OUT THE SUN

October 19 2010

New York, NY – Without villains, there are no heroes. Without the Joker, there is no need for Batman. Without Lex Luthor, there is no need for Superman. While those examples are of course fictional, there are real life examples of such dynamics at play. superman
Would Winston Churchill be the legend he is to day without Hitler? Would Patton be one the great commanders of history had he not gone up against Rommel? Villains and heroes have long engaged in a dance that, in the big picture, helps both sway into the history books.

Of course, real life villains and heroes are often less dramatic and less ambitious then their fictional counterparts. Their legend is created through more mundane and pedestrian events than those created by writers, however those dreams, the dreams created in film and television and comic books have undoubtedly moved many an effort on both ends of the spectrum. The simple truth is that we do not know what evil lurks in the hearts of men, and so proactive efforts to prevent malevolence is sometimes our only recourse. Now the United Nations has started to play a role in that effort, to try and prevent future villainy, by tabling a plan to outlaw the blocking of the sun, an effort that may dissuade would-be supervillains and potentially inspire more formidable individuals.

“The issue of biological diversity is one that will become more and more important in the matrix apocalypse
the future. As natural environments continue to decline and pollution continues to flourish, it becomes even more important for the natural environment to be as robust and diverse as possible for the health of the planet and for our long term survival,” said a spokesperson for the CBD. “By using devices such as sunshades and other blocking devices we will merely mask a problem instead of actually solving it. We also don’t know what long term effects such devices would have on the planet. This is not simply about stopping maniacal villains, it is about preserving our natural world for ourselves and our children.”

Some advocates suggest that sun shields would help reduce global warming and allow us time to reduce fossil fuel usage.

“Geoengineering is going to be a major debate going forward. We have already had a mr burns blocking out the sun
number of issues that many believe could be solved by these types of radical techniques but there is a great deal of concern about ancillary effects, concerns that effect everyone just as the disease itself does,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “It’s almost irrelevant anyway because no government would finance such an operation. The kind of politicking and red tape that goes along with any government project means that something like this would never happen, which makes the ban moot. However criminal organizations have a little less silliness going on, they can get things done, and this ban may simply provide inspiration.”

In a famous episode of ‘The Simpsons’ super-wealthy Montgomery Burns blocks out the sun over Springfield to increase reliance on his nuclear power plant. It’s believed any real life criminals would have more nefarious intentions on their minds.mr burns

“This is exactly the type of thing that supervillains prey on. They exploit areas that people think of as safe and secure and thereby increase the fear in the masses. That in turn benefits their eventual goals and provides the hero with the rousing victory in the end. Unfortunately there aren’t many superheroes in our world,” continued Poe. “While we could certainly make great strides to eliminate the impact of these supervillains, as we have seen in the case of Osama bin Laden the actual destruction of these individuals and their plans can be very difficult. However, this may bring out exactly the hero to world needs.”

Blocking out the sun for an extended period of time would kill all life on Earth.
