SCIENTISTS FINALLY CONFIRM THAT POSEIDON NOT BEHIND WAVES AND EARTHQUAKES

Washington, D.C. – There are many mysteries in our world that despite all of our advances in science and technology remain just that, mysteries. Many of those mysteries lie, naturally, in areas rarely frequented by human beings. Places like 
beneath the Earth’s surface and deep in the oceans have been, and may forever remain, out of reach for human beings relegating those areas to perpetual mystery. Science though does not give up no matter how difficult the task and the efforts to uncover those mysteries remains an ongoing quest.
For generations the ancient ancestors of many Europeans believed they had the answers to those mysteries. Greek and Roman tradition provided ancestors, most of them proven false in the modern world, for virtually everything that happened in the natural world. The Gods explained the rising of the sun and the cause of evil in man. Subsequent religions, notably Christianity, eschewed those beliefs and in recent times, science has thrown even those explanations away as new finds find actual reasons for why things happen. Now science has come to yet another conclusion, one that involves perhaps the greatest mystery on the Earth in concluding that the God of the Sea, Poseidon, is not responsible in any way for the motion of the seas or earthquakes and in fact may not exist at all.
“We have now mapped much of the ocean floors in great detail and in analyzing the 
motion of plates both on the ocean floor and on land we have concluded definitively that the movement of the oceans and things like tidal waves and earthquakes are the result of natural events and not affected by outside forces,” said Dr. Martin Rebus of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. “We have concluded that these process are totally natural and we have not only found that they are not impacted by external forces, but we have found no evidence that such outside forces exists at all. No Poseidon and no Neptune affecting these elements, they are simply natural processes.”
Most Greek and Roman Gods had long ago fallen into disuse but some beliefs persisted due to the unexplored nature of the oceans.
“I think most people would have logically assumed that these ancient Gods were 
simply the creation of myth but the world is a fascinating place that is still filled with mysteries and so there was always the possibility that something magical could exist in the world. It appears though that this one final God has finally taken a tumble,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “I suppose there is one more, Hades, whose existence we can’t disprove but I think it’s perfectly safe to assume that if this much of the mythology has proven incorrect then the rest of it must also be false, or at least incorrect. They are after all intrinsically linked and if one is lost they really all should be lost.”
Waves and tidal flows are a result of a number of factors including tectonic movement, which also causes earthquakes, and wind currents.
“The one thing that is quite remarkable is that these ancient legends were able to tie the notion of one power influencing all of these things and modern science has proven that correct. However it’s not quite as simplistic as once believed and that’s probably a good thing. Is Poseidon existed then so would Zeus and historical records indicate that he was a bit of a hot head,” continued Poe. “The other Gods though, well I guess with Hades we can only wait and see. I guess that is one mystery that will never be truly solved so in some ways I guess we all have to believe it.”
The recent earthquake in New Zealand was not a part of the study but was likely not caused by a God.
