UNITED NATIONS INTRODUCES INTERPLANETARY AMBASSADOR AHEAD OF NEXT WEEK’S ALIEN VISITATION
September 29 2010
New York, NY – The world has undoubtedly changed in dramatic and even profound ways since the end of World War II. While the advances in areas such as medicine, science, and technology are undeniably huge, perhaps the biggest change is in the
way in which we deal with one another. Conflicts have certainly occurred and many continue today, but there have been no major conflagrations and borders have remained relatively constant. Nations cooperate with one another for reasons other than war at levels never thought imaginable. In short, the world is more peaceful and smaller place.
Many factors have contributed to that change in attitude that once caused so much bloodshed but one of the most significant ones is undoubtedly the United Nations. Burdened by inefficiencies and politicking, the U.N. has nonetheless been a place for nations to meet and discuss their concerns, even if resolutions are not made. A hundred years ago firebrands like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Hugo Chavez would never have been allowed on the soil of their hatred rival, but in today’s world they do come and meet with other world leaders with relative civility. The U.N. has certainly not solved all the
world’s problems, but by providing a venue for discussion and venting have certainly released the steam on a number of hot situations. That is exactly why the organization has created a new post to deal with inter-stellar visitors for their expected arrival in the coming weeks.
“Dr. Othman is absolutely the nearest thing we have to a 'take me to your leader' person. He is the absolute right person for this post and exactly the person we need to have meeting these alien beings when they arrive,” said Richard Crowther, expert in space law and governance. “The United Nations is the closest thing we have to a world government and so it falls to them to coordinate any contact with extraterrestrials in order to facilitate a peaceful and easy transition to the new world we find ourselves in.”
Dr. Mazlan Othman is a Malaysian astrophysicist and is considered an expert in inter-planetary communication.
“It makes sense that we create this kind of position, provided we don’t encounter a hostile species as depicted in so many works of fiction. If that were to happen there would be little opportunity to talk and so any kind of delegate or ambassador would be more or less
useless,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “However, if they are more docile, more sensible then an ambassador is exactly what we need. I mean we won’t speak their language and we may not even be able to comprehend what it is they are thinking, but we need to at least try. Without communication things fall apart very quickly, and in this case that could mean annihilation.”
Thus far, no direct evidence of alien life has been discovered, though the appointment makes many believe they know something they haven’t been telling us.
“The real concern here, from a political standpoint, is that the U.N. may be positioning

themselves as the spokespeople for the planet, which will allow them to consolidate power over other countries. If they speak first, the aliens will expect that going forward and then everyone will be forced to follow their lead,” continued Poe. “If they have some inside information, like that a visitation is imminent, then holding that information back while at the same time preparing for the arrival could be construed as dishonest, if not downright immoral. Then the question becomes are these the people we want representing us? That is a much deeper question.”
It is not believed that any other country will be able to create such a position if the aliens come in the next week, North Korea obviously excepted.
