FORMER SPACE SHUTTLE WORKERS BEING RECRUITED BY SUPER CRIMINALS
July 23 2011
Washington, D.C. – Much has been written in the last few weeks about the end of the shuttle program. The demise of that once promising effort to bring space closer to the Earth, which had mixed successes, has certainly been noteworthy but few are

truly lamenting the end. The program achieved, on the whole, little of what it set out to do and became very much a burden to NASA. Lemonade was certainly made out of lemons, but few people would argue that the overall effect was exactly what they wanted.
Much of that talk of the end of the program has revolved around the future. Eventually NASA will reach into space again and this time, with lessons learned, will be able to build a program that can actually do much of what the shuttle program had promised. Those efforts are, however, still a few years away and for the time being the organization will have to rely on the Russian space agency to continue exploration and science experiments. As an organization, that gap means little, but to individual employees it is something else entirely. The shuttle program did not run itself and now many of the people who spent years delivering payloads into orbit are finding themselves with little to do and bills to pay, leaving many workers, with very specific skill sets, on the open market for the taking by any organization who has the bread.
“It’s rough for a lot of people. Some will transition to the new program, some will just

go on as normal, but a lot of people are going to be laid off. A lot of people I know personally are likely going to lose their jobs and that just sucks,” said an anonymous NASA insider. “It’s a tough time out there and no one wants to lose their gig but it’s going to happen. I would imagine that it won’t be long before they get new jobs, possibly even better ones, though not from organizations as respectable as the U.S. government.”
NASA has not officially announced any layoffs though many workers are apparently already seeking new work.
“These are people with families to support and they need the work. Some of them will go into related fields, but there simply aren’t that many fields related to sending people into space. It’s a very specialized field and that is making it difficult for a lot of the workers, especially the older workers who can’t really afford to go back to school and retrain. It’s tough for them,” continued the insider. “I know of a couple guys who were looking at offers from foreign governments like India and China but even those jobs are few and far between. I would bet that more than a few of these guys are going to end up doing things they would rather not do just for the money.”
NASA officials have expressed concern in the past that former employees could go to work for countries such as Iran or North Korea to work on missile programs, but it’s believed that the majority will end up working for super criminals looking to expand operations into space.
“There is a very real risk of an explosive problem here, along the lines of the collapse of the Soviet Union and their nuclear experts. Those skill sets went to other countries and allowed nukes to proliferate and that is very likely to happen here. Fortunately most countries have little interest in space exploration, however criminals are a different animal,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “In space there are no laws, there are no police, and that would allow these groups to expand really rapidly. Most of them have loose cash hanging around and any kind of massive space base would really be an investment in the future. It’s a dangerous situation and without any kind of real-life superheroes, they would be able to wreak havoc on the world. This is the extreme scenario of course, but it’s very possible.”
At least a dozen former NASA workers are believed to be working for organizations in China and Zaire doing secret things.
