GAMMA-RAY BURST TO DESTROY ALL LIFE ON EARTH
October 10 2011
Washington, D.C. – The Universe is a big place, a massive place, and a very dangerous one. There are threats in virtually every corner of the Universe, things which could obliterate us and our planet without even slowing. As beautiful as it is, the wider Universe is a treacherous and deadly place.
Even here, on out little planet hidden away from all the big threats, we are in danger. Our planet has been the subject of universal apocalypse on at least on occasion, maybe more, and that will happen again, eventually, no matter what we do. Someday, all life on planet Earth will be wiped out forever, and now new data suggests that may happen sooner rather than later.
Observations of the near parts of the Universe have shown the emergence of a new threat, gamma-ray bursts, that could very well spell extinction for us in the near future. Those bursts are massive explosions of radiation created by the collision of two stars, explosions that spread over the vast distances of space and could very well hit our planet and incinerate us all. In fact, such a burst may already be on its way here and we wouldn’t know anything about it.
“These bursts occur on a regular basis and may very well have contributed to the type of climate change that initiated the decline of the dinosaurs. These bursts can erode the ozone layer and cause environmental changes, the type that caused the ice age and changed the temperature of the planet millions of years ago,” said a government science spokesperson. “It wouldn’t be an immediate hit, not unless the stars were close, but it could still mean apocalypse. If the burst was close, it could mean almost instant death.”
Aside from the meteor strike, it’s believed that a warming of the planet created flowering plants, which eroded dinosaur food supplies and contributed to their decline.
“Because of the vast distance of space we really wouldn’t know about a massive burst until it hit us. We can see stars colliding with one another but that data is very old, thousands of years old at least, and that means that something could be on the way right now and we just don’t know about it,” continued the spokesperson. “There is really little we can do about this if something is going to hit us shortly. We can try and create a defence system for the future, and we must try to protect the planet, but it could already be too late. In that case the best thing to do is just pray to your God and make peace with your loved ones because we are doomed.”
There is no evidence yet that something might be on the way. We would see the collision of the stars before the radiation hit, but without defences, we would still be hit.
“There is a theory that nature’s primary function is to destroy life. Perhaps life as we know it is some type of infection or bacteria, an ant colony that keep interrupting celestial picnics. If that were the case then our survival has to be limited because the Universe has a whole lot of heavy weapons, including these bursts of radiation,” said Scrape TV Apocalypse analyst Seth Morris. “No one wants to think like that but it is very possible that it is the truth. One way or the other this planet will be destroyed and it’s just a matter of when and how. Start making peace, though, because it might already be on the way. The end is always nigh.”
Experts do not recommend panic quite yet.
